To be fair it sounds like most of the people who got turned away were fans with the real tickets as fans with fake tickets had got there first and not been picked up. I can see why you'd be upset if you weren't allowed in after paying 2000 euros for a ticket and then got pepper-sprayed to boot!
It's good to see Union of European 'it's not about the' Football Associations blaming Liverpool fans for the chaos outside the stadium. Obviously, letting fans in who had fake, or no tickets had nothing to do with it. And of course, giving Liverpool and AC Milan around 17,000 seats each, in a stadium of 72,000 played no part either. Still, amd sure the 38,000 corporate sponsor really enjoyed watching a game between two teams they support week in week out. Sorry, may be hangover, but UEFA = W******

You pay for tix on the black market, then what do you expect ?

Its not legal to sue tix that have not been sold to you for games like this.

the rushing of the gates is apalling, whatever the alleged circumstances that may/may not provoked it. And uas much As I hate bring this up again, Liverpool are not exactly squeaky clean with regard to rushing the gates at matches/ forged tickets/ leaping the turnstiles.

they never learn.ever.

Many commiserations to the Liverpool fans on this thread. If it's any consolation I thought you played better than 2005. Still, sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles. Also, if I'd paid good money for tickets for the game, flights and accommodation etc, etc I be absolutely furious if I couldn't get into the ground to see the match. Anyway, do what I do when the Spurs lose, delete it from the memory banks. Better luck next time.

I agree with Jah Lush and I know that I am biased, but imagine paying potentially thousands to travel to Athens to watch your team play in the biggest game of the season. You've got a ticket and as far as you are aware it's genuine and there is no reason in the world why you shouldn't get in to that stadium. You get there and then you're turned away. Can you imagine how that would make you feel?

I also agree that there is a small contingent of fans that do let the side down, however every club has this problem. Because Liverpool have been successful and have played massively publicised games, our fans are highlighted as troublemakers.

How did fans without tickets get in to the stadium? Security should not have allowed it and as for people getting in with fake tickets, you can't blame the fans for that. It should be blamed on the greedy touts and the fact that tickets will always be available from unreliable sources.

so the liverpool fans are innocent and its all the fault of the authorities. unfortunately that wont wash, espicially with the previous that liverpool fans have. its a distinct possibility that the action taken by the authorites prevented a repeat of heysel/hillsborough.

    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.

I love the fact that you, Dave CPR, are so unaware of how another can be affected by something that does not personally affect yourself. Blissful ignorance. Lack of Empathy. Cold hearted.
