Forumite signatures...

There seems to be a resurgence in forumite signatures, why do people feel the need to add one?, is it the equivalent of a comedy tie?, 'Look at me, I've got a sense of humour!'...

I put my signature in just to remind people to do reeeeally important stuff.

I've worked in places where - when the person had not done the will thing - it reeeeeeeally mattered and caused so much grief for people as a result. So not apologising for it. The rest is just good socially aware stuff.

Signatures are awful. And after the mildly amusing, forgivable adverts and worthy causes we have the worst kind:

Those that say "I'm intelligent yet blessed with subtle wit and political nous" and as Sean Mac has demonstrated, even the forum's old guard can get it horribly wrong. Only a few days ago the self-styled forum stalwart was found finishing off posts about Bins on Goodrich Road with the gem "Sedition never entertained".

Thankfully now removed. ;-)

I added a signature when I was going through a particularly angry phase, and it felt like an appropriate warning. Took it off when I felt better.

Have recently considered adding 'Education never pained' as I had to look 'sedition' up...
