I totally agree. A tumble of wheat, cornflowers, daisies and thistles and the wonderful sunflowers.

I think all aspects of flora in the park are brilliant.

The wild meadow areas are an attempt to entice back birds to the park - there was a notice up about this at one stage when the fencing was still surrounding the areas. Does look good tho'.

There are some more the other side of East Dulwich Road where Peckham Rye Common extends that way. Has really made a difference to what was a bit shabby compared to the lovely park!

Thanks for posting the photographs. We plan to catch the latest Harry Potter tomorrow at the Peckham Itch. A bit of a detour on the way, then, and well worth it.

Harvesting the plums -- meh. Good that they'll be eaten, and no one's the worse for a bit of that sort of foraging. Different, I think, from flower-picking.

What's wrong with taking the plums? And more importantly where are they? I've done blackberrys and Mirabelle plums from the area already so a new diversification would be good!

Nothing wrong with taking plums in my view, but using a sheet just seems downright greedy.

Err.. that's because that side is wild....it's used for school projects I believe.

There's nothing remotely wild about that section in the image above.
