Having toured London ( admittedly non-rush hours!) quite extensively this summer I have nothing but praise for the frequency of Tube trains on most routes throughout the extensive network.

A typical example was passing through the platform for "High Barnet" on the Northern Line and seeing the FOURTH train was due in eight minutes and this wasn't rush hour at all.

People only seem to comment when there are problems with our services but I give our Underground 9/10, though it could be cleaner...

Buses? You guys have more patience than me. Most drivers seem to be adept at consistently (deliberately?) getting the Red light at Traffic Lights. Buses often can't get to reach their own lanes and are stuck in single file traffic ( Peckham to Camberwell being a good example). Uncomfortable in the heat, in traffic, as well.

On the rare occassions where they do progress quite well, there is always a chance that "this bus is stopping briefly to regulate the service"....:-$

Yes I agree with Dazie it's the touchy feely men on the tube that make me hate it so much. Also in summer when you're head is inevitably going to end up in a sweaty persons armpit is also not something I look forward to. In rush hour tubes are horrible but in non rush hour I enjoy them.

Buses generally have more entertaining people on them to watch but I hate not knowing if one will ever turn up.

I never knew that about you Keef but then again I've never met you, which hopefully should change at the next drinks. Very noble of you all the same.

I think the tube is an absolute fantastic service.. live in other countries such as Australia where I am from and it makes you realise how great it is.. Tube - peak hour - train every 1 - 2 mins (at worst) Australian trains - peak hour - 1 train every 17 - 23 minutes - I kid you not!

    • I had a similar experience a few years ago when a relative said she had seen a letter that I had sent to a solicitor come up on her iPad.  I don't have any apple devices so it can't have been that our devices were synched.  I tried to find the document on her iPad shortly after and couldn't find it again.  It was very odd and we never got to the bottom of it so if anyone can explain it, I'd be really interested too.
    • Hi, I 'd like to recommend H. Ozturk Roofing Services.  Huseyin has done some excellent work for me repairing lead work, guttering, mortar and missing tiles etc.  He always takes the time to listen to what the problem is and carries out the repairs to a high standard.  He is very professional, polite, arrives on time and cleans up afterwards. I highly recommend him.
