So many choices

This coming long weekend, I'm torn between

1. Going to some all-day garden party in very nice place, awash with alcohol; and supporting an organising friend as well as having fun.

2. Spending serious time on a mid-term investigative project, on a loathsome but important subject (events mean it would have to happen over the long weekend)

3. Having fun at Pestival

4. Doing boring/serious/important things at home/office to make progress on them.

I don't think I can do all. Too many choices.

Personally I'd take the first option. Friends, party, alcohol, fun and for a good cause. Gotta be the winner here.

Go with number 1 but work extra hard during the week so you don't feel guilty about taking time out to have fun. ALso check the weather forecast before deciding.

Pestival is on at the Southbank this year isn't it? When I first heard about it (a group of entomologists having a festival ?) it was on the Stewart Lee DVD and I didn't believe it was real. But there it is.. Robin Ince this year I believe

options 1 and 4 are perennials, whereas 2 or 3 are here and now - so I would go with either 2 or 3. Bordering on 3

Just looked up Pestival online out of curiosity and it is not this weekend, but next weekend 4-6 September so that solves one dilemma for you. I think I'd go for the garden party - sounds like fun.

sanity girl, you have returned some sanity to my weekend. (How did I screw that up?)

I reckon I'll go to the garden party (Saturday), dip into climate camp (Friday) and do one day on the investigations (Sunday).
