what if he was a policeman?

That would be blatant entrapment, of course, but I think prosecution arising there from isn't barred under English Criminal Law - one of the few countries where it isn't - unless it was repealed when the HRA was enacted? I recall several cases going before Strasbourg on just that issue in the 90s. Anyone know the current position?

"Walked into a newsagent in East Dulwich today and a guy followed me in and asked if I wanted any ganja.... I ignored him and he asked me another 2 times before telling him I didn't smoke. Then he decided that I might want some coke and thrust 2 telephone numbers into my hand."

I don't see what the big fuss is Ben. If you were given the choice of having a young salesman offering you contraband/drugs at a reasonable rate or being called 3 to 4 times a day enquiring as to whether you have the appropriate funeral cover or if you would like to switch energy supplier I know what I prefer.

I was once in The Spice Of Life at Cambridge Circus having a couple of swallies with my boy.

Over in the corner was Irvine Welsh with a group of friends, even at a distance it was easy to discern he was off his tits.

While my son was at the bar, a young South African woman sitting next to us leaned over and enquired if I "knew where she could meet charlie"?

It was exhilerating to be able to tell her that while I wasn't in a position to assist her myself, if she would care to ask the bald Scottish gent in the corner he could possibly advise her on the matter.

Quite made my evening.

A trim wouldn't hurt, alright.

    • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
