I know this maybe the thread that never goes anywhere, but I would like to say that I am very interested in collecting Orchids and was just wondering if there are any serious collectors or even just people who love an orchid in East Dulwich? I would like to ad a few more unusual Orchids to my collection to brighten up my new pad and was wondering if there are any shows or a local branch of the orchid society i could join. If any one has seedlings they would like to sell I would be very interested!!

thanks

Iain.

George Eliot on an unsuccessful marriage: "To the last [he] occasionally let slip a bitter speech which was more memorable than the signs he made of his repentance. He once called her his basil plant; and when she asked for a explanation, said the basil was a plant which had flourished wonderfully on a murdered man's brains."

Iain take this as you see fit.

I and my friends like to grow a bit of dope over the summer and we often get quite competative concerning the end result. I don't go in for all this hightech halogen lights malarky but instead prefer to cultivate some good Sensimelia.

What I've discovered through various underground publications is that Orchids are very similar to Marijuana as in the seeds are often cross breed hybrids. A good tip for growing homegrown as well as Orchids is to water them with mineral water and to use only fruit peel as fertilizer.

Good luck.

I like orchids, but the flowers always decide they've had enough and then they die, anybody got any advice?

when the flower dies cut the stork down to the next joiny bit on the stem it should sprout a new flower shoot, also feed your orchid every two weeks and make sure it does not stand in water!!

I grow poppies in quartzite hewn by hand from the hindu kush, oooooh they should be ready to harvest soon. I feed mine with the blood of counter insurgents and fill the air with cordite to make them feel at home.

Cant wait to get smacked out of my brains in the very near future & just think all this from the foothills of Sydenham & a low carbon footprint.

What recession ? by the time I come to it should be all over.

Oh & f**k your Orchids, poppies rock.

WOW MAN W**F

    • John recently skimmed the walls in our front room lounge, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. From start to finish, he was professional, punctual, and easy to work with.   He arrived on time each day and kept me updated on progress, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The quality of his plastering is smooth, even, and ready to paint with minimal prep. He takes real pride in his work.   John was also very tidy, laying down protective sheets and cleaning up thoroughly after the job was done. It’s clear he respects his clients’ homes, which I really appreciated.   On top of that, he’s friendly, approachable, and trustworthy someone you feel comfortable having in your home. His pricing was fair and transparent, with no unexpected costs.   Highly recommended if you're looking for a skilled and reliable plasterer. I’ll definitely be using him again for any future work.
    • You what???   Think you Should have gone to woodfalls 😁
    • Your second point contradicts your first (and previous post)
    • I'm guessing they're busy. I found out just now that the SNT has tracked down the kids who attacked my dog, had strong words with their parents, and the gang has now broken up. I got a lot of detail, which I won't go into here, but it sounds as if they were also quite compassionate towards some of the kids, some of whom may not have had the easiest of lives.  I know that those kids had nothing to do with the attack of the man in August and that they are also aware of the fireworks problem. Sounds like good community policing.
