You think it's inflammatory and aggressive to use the word 'jeering'?

I'm genuinely perplexed.

Perhaps you know a different definition from me?

I think it's really bad forum etiquette to start a thread about a private message, naming the person who sent it and publishing the content or alluding to what it was about.

If you're prepared to post on a public forum, and be quite antagonistic with it, then you can reasonably expect to receive a response on the forum or by PM.

I don't read the family room posts but from what I've seen of Londonmix on other parts of the forum comes across as a reasonable, fair and interesting poster whose contributions are worth reading. Increasingly rare qualities these days, in my opinion. LM has already politely explained their use of the word jerk and why they PMd rather than derailed the thread so no need to go on about other ridiculous things it could have meant. I'd be horrified if someone started a thread about a PM I'd sent. It's unnecessary and unpleasant behaviour.

If you're being "cyber-bullied" or receiving offensive, abusive PMs then that's another matter entirely. Nothing to see here tho.

Bit rich coming from die hard clique needy

Oh god blimey, wipe your mouth of it all

And offering to meet someone to 'have it out' is idiotic

Being called a jerk in a pm is pretty polite given the above

I'm thinking something stronger here

I hear the latest grand theft auto is centered around a fictional East Dulwich. Where nothing really happens except people abuse each other with childish names in drive by shoutings and message boards. Then bleat about a tree being damaged for the rest of the game.

If you do decide to have it out in person i would be happy to referee if you could make it a Friday morning as I'm turfed out of my flat by the cleaner #firstworldproblems

drive by shoutings :)

I just sent myself a PM calling myself a gentrifier. I've reported myself to the mods, the police and the rockers.

lol

This is probably the least risky forum in the world to act like an internet tough guy and ask people if they "want some". What are you going to do, throw their latte over their labradoodle? "Jerk" sounds like an okay description.

Not as rich as a 'newbie' writing that. Unless of course you aren't. In which case who were you before?

    • If you are looking for a trustworthy professional, I highly recommend Niko. He has consistently delivered quality work. No job is too small, and he is always accommodating. He has helped me out on a number of occasions, often at short notice when unexpected issues arose. His number is 07818 607583.
    • Well, they do turn them away from the A&E route at Kings and rightly so they employ GPs and if after triaging you’re determined to have a GP type problem you are sent to see one of the GPs on site or close to the site.
    • My bike (a ELOPS 120 step over classic from Decathlon) was stolen from outside The Belham this afternoon. I locked it up while I collected my kids, then the street was so busy that I left it there while I walked them home. Did a few other things at home, came back about 5.30pm and it was gone. Sharing just in case anyone sees it or finds it anywhere - it’s a few years old and the chain is a bit rusty/makes a clicking sound so maybe there’s a slight chance someone would dump it! Really annoying and just a reminder to be really careful with bikes. The picture shows the bike model from the Decathlon website.
    • Thanks, I didn't know that.  People are even more stupid than I thought then, if they are willing to wait hours in A&E for an ingrown toenail. I presume they don't get put at the front of the queue. Why isn't the 111 service more widely advertised? That puts you in touch with a doctor, who will advise on the phone or visit, and if necessary  you will be advised to go to A&E or they will arrange an ambulance to take you.
