Hi All

If you are making plans around the Christmas period, highlight the 19th December on your calenders. Santa's Christmas parade will be in Dulwich, 12pm onwards. Park Hall Road, West Dulwich will host Santa on his sledge at 12pm, bring the Children along and Wish Santa a merry Christmas.

Then join Santa at 3pm for the parade, he will meet you at the corner of Townley Road and Lordship Lane, where mums, dads, grandma and grandad can join in the fun. We encourage the children come along in fancy dress, Princesses, Pirates and Angels are all welcome. Santa and his helpers Hannah and Marilyn will then parade down lordship lane towards Santa,s Grotto in Zenoria Street, where you can greet Santa

(The parade will also be escorted by the Local police for Safety reasons)Santa and his helpers are CRB checked

This post will be constantly updated throughout November up to the 18th December( Just in case Santa is late, Lapland is quite far)

Santa's parade and supporting events are sponsored by the Retailers of West and East Dulwich. Panino d'oro and Harvey Wheeler from the village. Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas/Holidays/Yule from us.

Are we going to have lights then? How exciting! In which case, Monica could dress up as the Queen and switch them on...she could arrive seated side-saddled on Doris the Donkey...

Hi Monica,

I sent you a private message but have not had a reply.

Given that we would like to bring a number of children within our care, can you confirm please that the Santa in the Grotto is a current holder of a enhanced CRB check. I am sorry to be a bore but the council will ask for this when we request to take the children.

Kind regards,

Letitia

    • what type of car was it, if they are in demand, might be helpful info.
    • Which has, unfortunately, closed. Au Ciel is much better than Gail's. Big bakery in the parade of shops near Rocca in Dulwich Village with all the seats outside - you can't miss it. Normally a big queue outside at weekends with walkers and cyclists topping up on carbs and coffee!
    • Hi, just to say there was an attempted car theft at the FH end of Underhill over Friday night. Without wanting to go into all the detail, they were pretty adamant and took a great deal of time to (try) take the car. The police came within minutes, and drove around etc.. The police said the car was in demand at the moment. I don’t know if that was brand or model. notwithstanding what the police said, all car owners should be vigilant and neighbours. These thieves were interrupted twice by neighbours, but the thieves came back etc and the neighbours didn’t put 2+2 together as to what was happening to the car. The thieves were two guys, on the cctv it looked like they were wearing grey, but it may have been black (cctv can look odd at night). My neighbours said they were black. They had a bag with them, no doubt carrying tools and they may have been dropped off by a car, that is being investigated.  Take care!!
    • Chain of cafe.. upmarket. One in village.. Been there for at least 3 years. On same side of street as detached houses, one which usually opens her garden for charity.
