Starting a new thread as "Gay Girlies" was possibly a negligent misrepresentation.

So just to recap - a bunch of us (Nikster, Giddy Gecko, Me, James (?) and MikeSE22..) are meeting for drinks in The Rye at 7pm on Monday 11th June. I think Mattindulwich18, Beej (and possibly partner James) were keen. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone else.

Anyway all welcome of whatever colour of the rainbow :)

Well the SUN was definitely out when we went there for lunch yesterday - unusually quiet for a Sunday too what with Carters Steam Fair and the Forest Hill Day's taking place. Bliss it was I tell you

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well GG - Hope everyone has a good evening tho

Absolutely gutted I didn't see this thread till it was a day too late. My boyfriend and I ended up at the cinema watching some tediously long film and would've so much preferred to be meeting you all. Wish there was some way emails of events could get sent to everyone's personal emails etc. Anyway sorry to have missed it, and please do count us in for the next pink drinks! Everyone come to Gay Pride in Trafalgar Square on the 30th June, my band UnkleJam will be headlining. Peace Beej (Bobby) xx
  • 2 weeks later...

Did I miss the drinks on the 2nd? I had just returned from Madrid and did not get home until gone 10pm.

I went into the Rye for dinner on Thursday with my man.

It seemed quite rustic and oldey worldy but nice with candles etc.

Would be keen to come to the next drinks.

it sort of cancelled i think - epic monsoon style rainstorm and no confirmed attendees (unless loads of EDF non-posters turned up - in which case please accecpt my sincere apologies)

someone else's turn to arrange next month as i failed so miserably :-$

perhaps we need a way of swapping phone numbers so that everyone knows who's going...?

    • Please bring this to Dulwich Village - we only have cafés and chain stores and could really do with some retail dynamism ! There's so much disposable income in the area, but so few good options to spend it.

    • That's absolutely disgusting. If it's true they should have closed the shop until it was fixed.
    • I have read conflicting accounts, some say the Peckham Rye pond chelonians are fresh water turtles others that they are red-eared terrapins. As well as terrapins, there are reports of Musk Turtles, a non native, fresh water turtle species also being released into the wild. They are also better equipped to survive our winters and do not seem to need to bask as much as terrapins. Perhaps we have both. I have not been able to see them close enough to observe markings.
