Regarding a vegetarian restaurant - I used to always think that as well. I'd love that but I'd settle for any of the existing establishments (esp the gastropubs/Franklins/Palmerstons) giving less hackneyed veggie options. I am seriously bored with a) veggie risotto, b) anything with goats cheese and c) penne anything.

The only things I miss from where I used to live before are:

The river

A tube station

A good independent family run Spanish Tapas restaurant/bar

M&S and Waitrose

What ED has over that is character and a good community spirit, not too many rowdy aussies & kiwis.

From a convert from SW to SE

There's an adventure playground next to Sainsburys on Dog Kennel Hill - annoyingly not open on Sundays, or at random times in the winter.

Turkish bread can be bought from the Turkish supermarket on Forest Hill Road, near the Forest Hill Tavern - also a big variety of baklava.

There's a music/instrument shop near Northcross Road - carry on up to Crystal Palace Road (I'm very bad on road names - is it Underhill by then?) and it's on the right. I've never used it but it is likely to have picks etc. and sheet music.

i totally second mellors suggestion, we need a tready shop to help me with my arts and craft hobby. The shop near tesco metro is helpful for making cards but we do need something with fabrics, beads and laces which doesnt cost loads. i popped into the fabric shop by the trainstation and they were charging ?100 per sq meter!!!

maybe we should setup our own craft workshops, ive got a room on lordship lane

    • Second time that Leon has come to the rescue . He was here within 2 hours -- ok he was working locally but he didn't have to fit me in .Shows what he's like ,he'll try and get to you asap .And he carries a number of commonly used parts and doesn't have to go off and get them . (You might think that this isn't deserving of comment ,but believe me it is ! ) Great guy ,100% recommend .
    • Hi all,   Does anyone have a two or three person tent they no longer want or need? As compact as possible would be ideal in order to carry in a bag/on a bike. Many thanks Joe
    • Today between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 PM, someone entered the back door of an estate agency and stole items from the kitchen, including a microwave and kettle. The individual then proceeded to trash the kitchen before leaving. This happened near Shawbury/Lordship Lane. If anyone saw a man carrying these items or acting suspiciously in the area around that time, please report it to the authorities and let me know. if anyone has access to cameras located near the area, your help would be appreciated.  Let’s help keep our community safe.
    • Well, that makes me feel better about my presently chaotic "office" (aka dumping ground for random stuff 😀) I do use it for an office as well though. That's what I'm supposed to be doing now, instead of mindlessly scrolling on my phone 😭
