For some reason I've got it into my head that it was directed at, amongst other things (relationships, obviously) living in London. Can't remember why I think that - I must have read it somewhere.

It's all in those lovely words of William Blake, Sean.

Did young JC hang out in Glasto or something??

And then, obviously, there's the vague Peckham connection!

Do you mean that litterally? William Blake, never left London apparently, darak satanic millis, "On England's Ggreen and pleasant land"

Or Symbolically - Blake talking aboiut building a 'new Jerusalem' or spirituality in England, leaning to socialism, (or more recently rugger buggers and the WI funnily enough)

or make your own mind up

And did those feet in ancient time,

Walk upon Englands mountains green:

And was the holy Lamb of God,

On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here,

Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;

Bring me my Arrows of desire:

Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold:

Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,

Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:

Till we have built Jerusalem,

In Englands green & pleasant Land.

Good call, ontheedge. The song is "Can't be sure"... and I think you'll find it's miserable weather!

Takes me back 20 years to Uni *sigh*.

And as for you,Mr Smith; Amadan!

Now go read some Blake.

London Girls - The Vibrators

London Lady - The Stranglers

England Swings - Roger Miller (nominally about England but really about London)

Saturday Gigs - Mott The Hoople

Good calls on White Man In The Hammersmith Palais, Waterloo Sunset and Rainy Night In Soho which was the song that my son and new bride did their first dance to at their wedding.

In this day and age, with social media being in our faces..yes, I don’t live in ED, but visit,  why doesn’t Christian spirit happen? I would think, few people even know their neighbours…. Life, busy etc. We all live in one world..human kindness is all around..In a city, people are scared to make human contact, especially when who knows what might happen. Can clearly remember, coming back in summer with friends,  side door had been jimmied.. nothing was taken from inside.. When I lived in ED and when I visit, it is Me who starts a conversation.. never know where that might lead, or in deed where it might take one.. Notice my post, in general did not have response I was hoping for .. that is fine.. So, Will start again, and ask personally.how can I thank or make a donation to keep forum going..
