There is a world of difference between the fact (which I agree with btw, but that isn't the discussion bring had here) that some bits of London are high crime areas within which the police use more 'intense' tactics when they go in, and the theory that this has translated into Islamic-dominated 'no-go' zones which are breeding grounds for extremists.

The radicalisation is happening, but not like that. It's a more insidious process (again that's a different discussion), but it has not translated into territorial dominance of East London by extremists. And by implying it has (which you seem to be doing) you are indeed talking about British (ie mainly white) people vs Islamic (mainly Arabic/African) people. So skin colour does become a factor. Though I'll concede it's a minor one, as there are several examples of radicalised white British Muslim converts who go to Syria and do a modern day Lord Haw Haw.

Anyway - localised crime/extremist Jihadis, not the same thing, I guess is my point.

I run all around London (for fun) and I can confirm I have never come across a no-go area anywhere in south or east London. Yes, I am a bit more careful at night but still no issue with anywhere including Angell Town, Burgess Park, north Peckham, Tower Hamlets, Carey Gardens, Winstanley Estate, Tulse Hill.

Grok - name one street or estate that I should test out and I will report back how it goes, both at daytime and night. If you like, then please name 5 areas and I'll rank them for you.

You prove it. Give us some facts instead of spouting rubbish. You can't can you. Just like you seem to think I'm in the pub all the time. I'm not.

Sadly, there's also an online pettion supporting closing our borders a la Trump that apparently has more support than the Trump one but is not getting the 'press'

All this online petition and the simplistic, thick, virtual signalling crap of the politics of Social Media is actually restoring my faith in Representative Democracy rather than Direct Democracy. The loudest people on social media seem the most angry, dimwitted Fookwits in the world.

I couldn't agree with you more.

The petitions I get via Change.org are terrible.

One with 444,241 signatures, but that was started in September.

Two coonts together, they deserve each other , toxic twats

Hopkins is a shock jock, pure and simple. The more you hate her, you more she digs her heels in and carries on with what she does. I actually really like her style, I think we could learn a lot from her. I don't agree with her on Trump, but guess what she has the right to say and do what she pleases in a democracy. I'd quite like to see her up against Lady Colin Campbell, now that would be highly entertaining.

Louisa.

I'd quite like to her up against a wall and shot without a blindfold. I'd find that highly entertaining. Can you just imagine the TV ratings?

Also, Colin is a bit of an odd name for a lady don't you think? I blame the parents.

    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
