I got married in August last year, and decided I would be Morgan (Maiden Name) at work and Dunn for everything else.

and that will probably change when we have kids as I intend to call our first child Morgan (as a first name) so that will get confusing and I will probably been dunn all the time then.

And if we don't have children I have been told that I can purchase a Morgan car.

So either way Morgan will always be in my life

Mrs Keef will be keeping her own name, but taking on the Mrs when she becomes the real Mrs Keef..... Did that make any sense???? :-S

I couldn't care less what her name is, she'll still be her.

Kids will have to go double barrelled though I guess... Not ideal, but I'm not letting my name die with me... Call me old fashioned and all that....

You said you intend to name your first child Morgan Dunn. Why is it ok for their name to sound like a credit card but not yours?

My surname is already a double barrel name (although with a ?van? preposition rather than the Poncyville-Dickwadson kind) so when I asked my fianc? if she would like to double barrel her surname when we get married she told me I was being an idiot. Don?t blame her to be honest. I wouldn?t inflict a triple barrel name on my children.

She?s taking my name when we get married. I don?t think she likes hers.

Therein lies the problem. On top of seeming a little pretentious, claiming a double barrelled name seems a little selfish to me as it doesn't allow your children to do the same.

I felt quite strongly about my wife taking my name, I guess it's just a tradition now, but I think it's quite a nice one. I guess it's something for every couple to make their own mind up about, don't think there's a right and wrong, just how you feel. I know all my bloke friends wanted their wives to take their names, although in some cases a little bribery was required to get that to happen (normally spending even more on the wedding, or promise of kids asap!).

I wasn't worried about my name being carried on, just found it nice to think that all the family would have the same surname (so we're the "Smith" family, rather than some concoction of names). I think I'd prefer that we'd both taken a new name of our choosing than kept our own surnames. Actually, that could be quite fun.... memories of a Friends episode where Phoebe changes her name to "Princess Conswela Banana-Hammock" :))

I've always looked forward to getting married and getting rid of my surname (Bugg), but now it is becoming a possibility that I will get proposed to at some point I'm already starting to miss it. There's no way I'd go double barrelled (IF I was to get proposed to and married) as that would be Bugg-Harmer or Harmer-Bugg - both v v wrong!!!

Hmmm, think I might pass on that one!! Course it wouldn't be as bad as the family I've met who are Pine-Coffin's.... I kid you not!!

    • The "Community Benefits" are documented on P12-16 of the Consultation Document. Basically unsubstantiated estimates that it benefits local businesses, claims that it provides "opportunities" for local food traders, businesses & people (the term " opportunities" being meaningless - I have opportunities to win the lottery) without any details, facts or figures, and discounted tickets for local residents (which unsurprisingly seldom sell out). The only direct financial benefit to the Park is a £1000 "Biodiversity Fund" and an undisclosed amount for an "Environmental Impact Fee" - looking at how it was spent this year (flower beds in the playground & Sexby garden) I suspect it would be a similarly small figure. The actual site hire fee - claimed as "commercially sensitive" and therefore undisclosed - is spent on: • Funding the council’s free events programme and Cultural Celebrations Fund • Subsidised fees for community events in the borough • Off-setting the running costs of the Events service, which supports the delivery of the free community events programme  Again, no details given, just vague concepts - can anyone name any of these free & subsidised community events? Or what the "Cultural Celebrations Fund" is or does? It doesn't really sound like any of it is worth  the disturbance, restrictions, noise, litter, environmental damage and negative impact on wildlife in our Park.

    • We also recommend Aaron.  Very reliable, reasonably priced and did a fantastic job on our hallway and bedroom ceiling.  A pleasure to work with and left the house very tidy at the end of the job.  Thank you
