Not at all, because you live too close to Bellenden village which is far posher (according to those who live there) then down to earth and common old East Dulwich

I agree with Kel go away posh people and leave ED to those who have been here for more than 10 years (Kel does 11 years count ? )

The very essence of a Village is that it is isolated and everyone that lives there knows everyone else.

That could never be said of East Dulwich..

East Dulwich is not isolated but many people that live there feel isolated in themselves.

Just visit any East Dulwich pub most nights, you will be spoilt for choice as far as Idiots go..

Peckahm is far cooler now, you would probably hear people say they live there rather than ED ;)

I remember listening to a comedy show on radio 4 whiles driving, about 10 yrs ago where there was a sketch about an estate agent using agent speak to big up properties in less desirable areas. He mentioned East Dulwich, to which a client replied, " don't you mean Peckham ?"

How things change :)

We've just moved to Copleston Road (not from far away, from Ruskin Park House on Denmark Hill) and are loving the area, but there seems to be some confusion from the Post Office and estate agents as to whether we're Peckham Rye or East Dulwich (ED being the nearest station but PR being not far away either). A friend suggested we style ourselves East Peckwitch, which I rather like for its Dickensian sonority.
I'm very happy to be in either but yes, I assume the SE15 postcode makes it Peckham. As long as an envelope has the correct number, street and postcode it'll get here anyway, won't it, so I might start giving out East Peckwitch as my address just for fun...

    • I think it’s depends when you go in as well. I’ve been in a few times in the last month and I haven’t had to wait more than 10 minutes.
    • Hey all 👋 I’m fairly new to running and have (perhaps ambitiously!) signed myself up for a half marathon later this year. I’d love to find a few others who are also just starting out and fancy running together in a relaxed, non-intimidating way.  The idea would be a very low-key, beginner-friendly run club — lots of jogging, walking breaks totally welcome, zero pressure on pace or distance. I’m particularly keen to create a small, supportive group for women who might feel more comfortable running as part of a group, especially around the park. I was thinking of doing gentle runs around Peckham Rye Park to start with. If that sounds like something you’d be up for, give me a shout — would be lovely to see if there’s enough interest to get something going 😊

As well as transferable sports skills, we teach our 2-7 year old members the four pillars of sports that Try Time was founded on, encouraging them to be energetic, imaginative, inclusive and respectful.   Sessions run 9.30-10.30am and 10.45-11.45am on Saturdays depending on the age group. We also run an inclusive more relaxed group for children that would otherwise get lost in our normal fast paced sessions at 10.45am. See you on the pitch!
