touche (can't put accent on, though, so this could go round in circles for some time...) And no, I can't give you some examples. That would be me getting drawn into a pointless arguement. Just look through her old posts. But thanks for the sneaky effort and the spelling tips. Maybe loock at your own posts next ;-)

Poor nothing. She was proper offensive on a number of threads, and I'd say the action taken by mr.admin, based as he has clearly stated on a picture much bigger than the one we saw, is fair. My posting rate has tailed off of late (and i'm not an "older" forumite) because there are an increasing number of threads that are started purely by someone attempting to get a rise, targetting admin with panic-fire criticism, or arguing for the sake of their "rights" (like this thread here). The content tends to be pointless, billious, and I have to take the choice of getting sucked into it by people who must just want an arguement (or else why would they be posting such utter arse-gravy) or not posting at all. I'm opting for the latter an increasing amount. So stop whining about your offensive mate who "doesn't know what she's done wrong", said presumably while large, manga style eyes glaze over with tears. Offensive that we saw, more that admin has had to deal with, got banned. And for the record, I never complained about spangles either. I just don't like this crappy whining. Grow up.

This may only be my 4th post since the last drinks, but I'm still a forumite and will be there!

What if it was BIG? ;-)

gotta say i like no.2, but no idea why: can't say that i associate red with danger particularly but that one just looks a little gaudy. (multiple edits for inability to type in a recognisable language with just 1 attempt)

Yet another case of fake advertising solved by the forum police. BB, I would like to suggest replying to these hardcore pm's with something equally witty and cutting - i find "your mum on toast" to be pretty versatile ;-)

I don't get... ... the british attitude to the sun. after monday, the first decent day of sunshine, I saw a number of shirtless blokes of the bulldog-esque persuasion sporting cracking sunburn. Are 1st degree radiation burns and an increased risk of melanoma a badge of honour that I should, in fact, be aspiring to? Or is it just about showing off gut, moobs and crap tattoos?

Where does it fit when you have met forumites several times in person but have trouble referring to them by their real name?! seanmac, don't take it personally, but your number is stored in my mobile with seanmac in brackets after it. When I say hello to keef, I say "hello keef". And a number of you have now been dubbed realname-forumname, as if your forum name was simply an unfortunate surname!

It's friendlier up North if you are from, or sound like you are from, up North - head to Yorkshire sounding a little more southern and prepare to be started on for a list of offenses ranging from "talkin' laaak a fookin' fairy" to "starin' at me pint"...

Keef - really sorry to hear your jacket went missing. Hope you manage to replace everything at minimum expense. RE: CCTV, echos Asset - sod all point in taping it unless you keep it - plod are rarely there the same day for footage, so at least a week seems like common sense. Also, twatty response from the landlord - is he seriously taking responsiblity for the moral code and actions of every single person that enters his bar?! He was a shirty little prick on the night, too. The glares and sneers he let out when someone dropped a pint on the floor were more than a tad OTT, and the "bouncers" had a go at Annaj and Lady MacGab for leaning against a plant and moving the plant pot by and inch or 2 in the process. I'm with seanmac on NTV - they managed to make it seem like it was a real inconvenience to them that we (non vale-regulars) were there, yet it would have been tumble-weed empty without the forumites. If they aren't up for custom from their local community and being even vaguely helpful when someone loses something, then I propose a hoity, aloof posture (think French waiter) and taking our custom elsewhere. As the ED pubcrawl thread seems to have demonstrated adequately, we're not short of alternative venues!

(until the kebab at > the end of the night) At the risk of lowering the tone substantially... 20 pints in a day with no food - where do we stand on resurrecting the student behaviour formally known as "the tactical chunder" ?! :-$ I've got to say that a few less pubs and a bit more time might be for the best (although best not to start at the CPT as can see keef getting comfy and not letting us leave ;-) )

i don't get... ..."celebrities", as featured in Heat Magazine and similar toilet paper. What are they for?

Unless there's a room in the lounge somewhere that i've missed, just how much fornicating goes on here?!?

sodding hell, keef, you've either been thinking about this for a while or you have a gift that must be shared with the world! I was going to suggest EDT to Plough, purely because I live a lot closer to the plough ;-)

Sorry to be so late back on after drinks messiness - captured painfully as always, andrewdblack, thank you! 4th July is the weekend before my massive exams, 11th the weekend after, so which do you want to see - a big bloke on edge making 1 pint last all night and sitting in the corner looking pale, or a big bloke out of control as pint number 9 gets sunk with chaser number 5, following by self doubt, self, loathing and a full dose of hugging strangers for being blurrygud?!? -

to save confusion, i'm just shy of 19 hands from hoof to forelock. But like all gangly individuals, rather weak. Hence my nuptuals to a pint sized scrapper ;-) -
the excellent Bon Jovi with Livin' on a Prayer (blame the trailers for the Sunday Night Project...)

sounds difficult, and i can understand why you feel pretty turned out by the whole episode. i don't have kids so don't have a recent frame of reference, but when i was a wee one (poor pun, i confess) i went thru a similar independent stage, so i went in the gents if i was with my dad and into the ladies if i was with my mum, as my folks explained that grown-ups could only go in the right one but little boys were allowed in the other one in order to stay with a parent. This might be a path-of-least-resistance to avoiding repeats of your uplands experience.
