I went to uni to get drunk, I did very well. So, I probably shouldn't have gone to uni, at least not at 18, when I was just using it as a half way house between living at home, and being a proper adult. Uni should be for people who really want to study. The problem is, unis need bums on seats, so are throwing places at people who really don't belong there.

Oh come on, this thread isn't too bad, I've had this conversation in the pub before, after a few beers. I once met a bloke who told me (when quite drunk), that he wanted to be a hit man, and had the idea of burying his victims up to their waist, then running over them with a steamroller. I suspect he'll never do it, it was just one of those random conversations you have in the pub.

Charlie is shite, because there's very little charlie in it. Hey, I've been around, went for a couple of beers straight after work on Friday, but was home by 8. Yesterday I had rehearsal all day, then was home at half 7. What a life I lead these days!

Finally got round to watching The Wrestler last night (having actually gone to the cinema to watch it, but either me or the wife got the time wrong, and we never went back). Bloody great film, completely depressing, very powerful, and a real look at what these guys put themselves through in the hope of being the one in a million who will actually make the big time, and earn a good retirement fund from it. Very highly recommended! Started watching Waltz with Bashir, but was too tired to finish, looks really good though, so will report back after giving it another go. Also have Saw IV from LOVEFILM, for when I can't be bothered concentrating anymore!

Watched part 2 last week, and I thought it was a much better film than part 1. With part 1, I'd agree with you BBW about the mess comment, but I thought part 2 was a better flowing film (no jumping around), and a good mix of action and talk. The bonus features were quite interesting, and the director said they'd made a decision to take 2 very specific times in Che's life to turn in to films, rather than trying to do a complete life story (which could probably fill 5 films easily). For this reason, I'd say it is important to know your history before watching. I'm reasonably up on it, but did have to ask Mrs Keef for a bit of background here and there. I'd recommend them though, as I'd say they'll divide opinion, so give them a go and see what you think. For me, part 1 = worth a watch, but messy, and a bit disappointing. Part2 = A good film, but you need to be in the mood for it.

Surprised you've not mentioned Owen. As you point out, Alonso could well have felt a bit hurt that he would have been shown the exit to make way for Barry, so I can't really blame him. I appreciate loyalty to a club, but it works both ways IMO.

Agree about the length. And I'm joking when I say it's shit, nothing in all 5 series could really be called shit. I do however think that the last series was a let down, and by far the weakest, especially after series 4, which was brilliant!

I admit I'm not a big fan, but I don't freak out either. I'd usually leave well alone, or if I needed to get them out of the bath, I'd usually do the old paper under the pint glass routine.

Season 5 was shite though wasn't it.

To be fair to Mick, I'm sure he stays with his team, which is Celtic. Him supporting a different prem team each season is like you following Real Madrid one year because Alonso has gone there, then Barcelona another year, because they buy someone else (just an example obviously).

LOL!!! Quite right. I occasionally like an ale, but for the most part, it's just nasty warm rubbish. Gets you p!ssed quite quickly though if you're not careful.

Thinking of The Heineken brewery in Amsterdam always makes me laugh. 5 of us went for a weekend a good few years back, and wandered around pretty stoned. We went to the brewery for the tour, and near the end, you go in to this room with a moving floor, and watch the bottling process, whilst the floor moves, putting you in the bottles position. We couldn't stop laughing, but the best was when we came out. I looked at my friend, and he turned to me looking VERY stoned, and said quite seriously "I'm a f**king bottle!". You probably had to be there, but it still makes us laugh about 6 years later!

I think that stella, Grolsch, Star, and the like all taste different, even on tap. Heineken is my favourite, thank God they got rid of that 3.5% cold filter shit they used to sell!
