  3. Sorry Mick, I didn't realise you wanted a direct response.
  4. And I'll actually have money, and it's at my secong home! :)-D
  5. I agree with pretty much everything in that post (except for the middle class bit, although some people would say I was). Picturehouse cinemas are the nuts, and it would be great to have one close to Sydenham (shame the dulwich lot will all be coming to the area for it).
  6. Much like rugby, you'll rarely, if ever, see the whistle blow when the ball is in play, it makes it exciting, one last throw of the dice, and the other team desperately trying to get it the hell out.
  7. But if the ball was 1mm away from the line, it wouldn't be a goal, so why would they allow it? If we're talking about 1 second, Owen was probably midkick at the time that the clock should have officially run out. Maybe we should have refs, just an automated system keeping time, then there could be no complaints.
  8. Absolutely, as Gary Liniker said, he was everything that was good about the game.
  9. Very good point Mockney. Scotty appeared in an episode of Next Gen (think it was called relic), because he'd been "trapped" mid transport for x amount of years, yet materialised in good health. Surely then, they could just "save" a copy of you (which you'd update at regular intervals in order to keep memories current), then if you expired, you could be easily replaced.
  10. This is a fair point, and I hope no one thinks that I would side with the church on this sort of thing. However, I also believe in free speech, and I believe that everyone, even the most vile of people, should be allowed a voice. I also thing thast the L & G community are quite able to stand up for themselves. I guess that if it were a BNP Headquarters rather than a church, I'd be on here speaking against it, so in that sense, I guess I should be against this. My simple point is that I believe that many people are against this just because it is "a church", without really having read up on it. If it were a catholic church, would people still be AS against it? Just for the record here, I am not actually trying to argue with anyone, I am trying to have a conversation about this issue. It's just like the St Anthony's primary school thread, it was about cars outside a school, but one or two posters had to make it about religion, and get offensive, and I just find that so so hard to stomach, and feel that there is way too much of it on this forum. It is the one thing on here that really gets me.
  11. Yes it was sarcy, but the fact that Louisiana admits that if it was a multiplex (bit more chavvy maybe?) cinema, she'd be against it, which to me is very odd. I still don't see any kicking and screaming. If you look back at what I have written in this thread, I have tried to make points, and I don't think anyone has particularly made "better" ones, they simply don't agree with mine, which is fine. Frankly though, I have never been patronising to you, or (unlike many) mentioned your age or anything like that, so the fact you then come on here, and jump in patronising me, when I am actually trying raise as point I believe in, is bloody rude!
  12. As am I, and I take exception of you suggesting that my "usual quality of arguement" is similar to a toddler's temper tantrum. I'd be interested to see you back that up. I've gotten angry once or twice on here, usually because I feel that a group of people need defending. I don't know what your agenda is here, but I think you're out of order.
  13. Did I just read that from you BBW? The Morley's chicken comment was hardly a serious point, but yes you're right, I do get wound up about this type of thing, and I'm not even a christian, and I don't think I'll go to Heaven when I die.
  14. You run the Morley's Chicken?
  15. Oh I see, so you just want it to be a posh cinema. I get it now.
  16. People want routemasters because they remind them of times gone by. I too loved them, and being able to run for one and jump on as it pulled away was very useful for those of us who are usually late in the morning. However, the new ones will not be the same, it'll be like a modern Beatle, or mini, just not right!
  17. MOTD broke down the times, and showed that actually if you added the celebration and the substitution to the initial 4 minutes, it added up to 5mins, and 27 seconds (I am doing this from memory), and Owen scored on 5 mins 28 seconds. So as far as I'm concerned, it was acceptable, as I don't think we can really have a go at a ref for allowing an extra second.
  18. I know that, and so do I, but I still stand by my point that is is a church that people are against, rather than being for a cinema. I thought a tannery was a tanning palour though, so shows what I know.
  19. Is tannery actually a word by the way?
  20. Sean if it was a tannery I suspect people wouldn't be against it in quite such a passionate way, that was what I meant, and I suspect you know that. Besides, one could live next door to Thomas Moore and not go there because they're not catholic. Who cares if there is a church next door. Like I say, if the cinema happens, I'll use it, as it's a 20 minute wall from my house. However, I question people's reasons for not wanting it to be a church, and would suggest it's not because they're big film lovers.
  21. LIAR!
  22. Next time ratty! Good to see you're still thinking of Dulwich ;-)
  23. Who's going for a drink in 10 forward later?
  24. A chord site like this might be helpful, it show the fingering for any chord you could ever wish to play, as well as plenty you'll never wish to play!
