  1. Perhaps, but just as you originally hail from Manchester, and have a load of Johnny come latelys supporting your team, I actually hail from ED, and have a load of you living in my yard! ;-) Hadn't seen the banner to be honest, but was only messin. I do remember I famous one from sometime in the latter 90s, when the mancs held up a "we won the title on Merseyside" banner, that one hit a few nerves.
  2. I'll second that, hope Alonso doesn't go anywhere! Red Devil, the fact you remembered a sign from, what, 12 years ago? is, well you know, a bit weird.
  3. We've had them in Sydenham too. I pretty much agree with the arguement that Royal Mail are not supporting them by posting their leaflets, just providing a postal service. It is also quite funny, as it shows that they simply don't have the support required to do post outs. Labour, Tories, Lib Dems, Greens, all would have volunteers doing mail shoots. My issue about it is simply that a black postman may feel pretty wrong in having to post this shite, but at least they are sticking two fingers up at the BNP, and showing that they are hard working British people, working for Royal Mail and earning an honest wage, unlike these slimey cnuts!
  4. I was about to tell Matthew to change the record, then I read And now feel less inclined to tell Matthew to shut up, and more inclined to answer the question. The answer is SP, that Liverpool would more than likely have even more cups than they already do, being that they missed out on 3 European cup places, and one cup winners cup place. Man U missed out one one cup winners cup place, so there! The ban sucked, and ys, Liverpool fans played a huge part, but bringing it up there was low, and the kind of thing that would make you throw your toys out of the pram. RE: Ferguson, I agree, it is surprising that United haven't won more European cups in his time, given what they've won at home. If anything Matthew, can't you take pleasure in that? Honestly, you kids.
  5. I look forward to seeing him back, I thought he was quality.
  6. TLS said on the looking back thread that he turned 55 yesterday, so a belated Happy Birthday Tony!
  7. Much as I am happy in the now, I often find myself looking back to younger days, and regretting things I did, or indeed didn't do. Can't change it now though, so feck it.
  8. That was called for. You obviously care very deeply for Jim. I'd say you have about as much reason to draw those conclusions as I'd have to say Let me guess, thrumpy greesy haired minger? Probably not, but you get my point.
  9. I mentioned True Romance on another thread, and was reminded how fit Patricia Arquette was in that film. http://www.ukhairdressers.com/star_gallery/hairstyles/530/2.jpg However, I really fancied her in Stigmata (can't find many decent images) http://www.menteabierta.org/html/articulos/gifs_articulos/stigmata01.jpg
  10. One of the best films of the 90s True Romanc.
  11. Quite right! Famous for being dead basically. In response to *bob*
  12. Totally with you on Peaches Geldof, but I think Lily Allen has had some great tunes. I do think however, that it can't of hurt her having 2 parents in the business! I don't mind Jack or Kelly Osbourne, but have huge respect for Aimee Osbourne, who wanted nothing to do with The Osbournes TV show, and seems to want to do things on her own.
  13. It means ugly basically. For the record, I disagree that Lily Allen is butters.
  14. Atila Reincarnate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Lilly Allen's not nice, she's butters as my 18 and > 16 year old boys would say. And I most certainly > wouldn't, and nor would my sons!! That made me chuckle, we used to say butters when I was in secondary school (early/mid 90s), nice to hear it's still being used!
  15. Dazie, who cares if she's a bitch, we're talking about "would you", not "do you think she's nice"?
  16. I think Lily Allen is lovely. Amy Lee from Evanescence does iot for me though http://www.allthetests.com/quiz25/picture/pic_1202958876_3.jpg
  17. Lots of players will get you nowhere if most of them are shite. Spurs had a massive squad a few years back, didn't do too much for them.
  18. Not seen that, but totally agree about Goodfellas.
  19. Or if it's home hard, give it a blast in the microwave. I love left over curry, probably more than fresh curry.
  20. The opening of "Before Sunrise" has always appealled to me. Makes me remember a time when I believed that 2 strangers could meet on a train and fall in love.
  21. For me, the team that wins is the best team of the year. I honestly don't think there was that much in it this year, and I do think that the strength in depth arguement is valid for Liverpool. United have a very strong squad, Liverpool have gaps in certain areas. I thought it was a good season, and hope Liverpool can build on it and make a real race of it next season...
  22. I've said this elsewhere, but for me, all public sector services are going to suffer due to government performance indicators. I understand why they have them, but they were badly thought out, and rather than help the failing services, they give them less backing, and reward those who are already doing well.
  23. Almost scary? I was hiding behind the sofa!
  24. I think Amaxon probably do them even cheaper than that MM, or did when I bought them. Treme sounds interesting.
  25. Well there goes me cheering the English team in the CL final ;-)
