  1. 3 of my grand parents, because I never knew them. Oh, and Che Guevara. And I know this is a bit weird, but Saddam Hussein.
  2. Sorry, CC the caps were unintentional,
  3. Okay, I don't want a row. Yes I agreed with Asset that it is seperatist, and I don't think they should be split. I was just pointing out however that the original idea wasn't based on families.
  4. What Moos said, although I find your post a bit weird Hal, not to mention insulting. I take it you don't take your kids to the park, playground, cafes or basically out of the house, being that there are strangers in all these places. Don't try playing that card, because a family friendly pub is surely every bit as safe as any of the above.
  5. I don't, this was agreed by a load of people ages ago. I'm flattered you think I HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE ALL THE DECISIONS, BUT ALAS i DON'T.
  6. Have put this on the other thread as well, but just in case you have missed it. The decision to hold these drinks on Saturdays had NOTHING to do with kids. In fact, I remember suggesting it in the early days of the forum, before I was even married, let alone a dad. The idea was simply to enjoy some beers in the sunshine, and maybe even have drinks at the clockhouse, and a game of rounders on the Rye or something like that. For me that would be a lot more fun than the usual forum drinks which I frankly don't really enjoy anymore, and am not alone in that. Sorry.
  7. Who wrote what in that last post Tony?
  8. Well that's a bit of a stereotype Sean! I was agreeing with every word til that last sentence. Don't get me wrong, I mean by all means, treat the entire Brook estate in Eltham with as much suspicion as you like, I'm pretty sure you'd be spot on. But the nice old man living next door to me, he's just English and likes footy.
  9. Agreed 100% Have to say though, not really fair to bring up Atila's previous banning, as he was wound up completely by someone behaving like a complete prick, and knowing they'd get a rise!
  10. Biggest worry is that UKIP came second overall. This country really is going to end up getting what it deserves! I'm looking in to opportunities of working abroad!
  11. I remember when Tony first signed up, I thought exactly the same thing. No longer do though Tony. Agreed.
  12. I agree with Asset that it is a bit seperatist, and also feel I should point out that there have been a couple of Friday evening ones with terrible turn outs, especially in summer. Also, there might be those who don't have kids, but would like to see those who do, this is less likel y if it is turned in to a completely seperate "family session". At the end of the day, the idea to do Saturdays was nothing to do with families in the first place, it was just to enjoy some sunshine with a beer.
  13. It's also just that time of year when people have lots of stuff going on. I'm easy with whatever is decided. Would like to bring the baby along one day, but also just like getting drunk.
  14. Would like to, but can't promise I'll make it.
  15. Had I been smoking, I don't think I'd have been bothered writing more than 3 words. I'm a lazy stoner, not an essay writer. And I bloody wish I could afford some at the moment. The Apprentice final won't be as funny as it should be!
  16. Dazie, I love a joint, but not sure where that came across is my last post (alas I have none at the mo :'( )
  17. I'm torn on the PC issue. A lot of the time, you hear people say "it's PC gone mad", and you think, "No, you're just a complete loon". But Sometimes I think it does go too far, and I disagree with people who shoot down anyone saying "PC gone mad", because in some circumstances, I think it has. I wouldn't want to live in a world where my kid gets a slap from a stranger for being naughty though, and I don't think being anti capital punishment has anything whatsoever to do with being PC.
  18. Bugger, I already know I can't make this date :-(
  19. Agree, lets let this one rest. My final word, in answer to Tony, is that had he not killed himself, I don't see that killing Hitler would have brought a single person back. Perhaps it would have been more useful to try to learn what made him the way he was. Whatever example you use, I can't see myself ever agreeing that it is justifiable to end a life, and that a fellow human should be shouldered with that responsibility.
  20. LeagalEagal, I take it you don't agree with it even you you were 100% cetain the person was guilty? What did you think when Saddam was hanged? He had undoubtedly done some bad things, but I still felt it was completely wrong, and he was basically handed to a lynch mob, purely for revenge, justice had nothing to do with it!
  21. I also think you're on very dangerous ground when you start using religion to justify killing. Isn't that pretty much 9/11?
  22. That's just it Tony, you'd not do it, yet you'd hand that responsibility to someone else and go about your day. Oh well, you could always get daisie to do it for you, she's itching to do some damage!
  23. Sounds like you'd rather enjoy it too. But at least you could justify your blood lust by saying you were dishing out justice.
  24. So what about my question then daisie. Would you be the one to kill the "scum"?
  25. This is always an emotive subject, and I guess people's minds won't be changed. I would ask those of you who are pro capital punishment. Would you be the one to pull the trigger? Would you look at the person in the eye, what ever they'd done, and end their life? Even Albert Pierpoint ended up being against capital punishment.
