  1. Series 3 starting on BBC2 tonight, after Newsnight.
  2. BBW, I wouldn't bother gong that far, would never make it home. Wells park will do me!
  3. Sorry, only just seen this. Er, no. That's pretty much the exact opposite of what I was saying. In fact, I was saying exactly what you've said in trying to disagree with me. Maybe I should have been clearer, but I am surprised you've read my post that way.
  4. I got beasted last time I took a grim view of a cyclists behaviour, so I'll not say anything. However, if someone would like to post THAT clip, for the fifth time, I still think it's funny!
  5. Sorry if it's been suggested already, but a sunny day, why not get the tube to Chalk Farm, and wonder up to Primrose Hill. Lovely place to sit and take in amazing views!
  6. The pressure on Brit players at Wimbledon is well OTT, but you can also be adored, so you can't really have it both ways. Maybe you're right Ted, I've not seen much of him recently. I still want Federer to win though because I liked him. I always used to like Agassi, and would have cheered him over Henman.
  7. I'd love to see him back, sentimental or not, I think he still has something, even if he never quite gets his best form back, which SP is probably right in saying he won't. It is a shame though, would have loved to have seen him carry on for England, and still think he's better than some of the deadwood in the squad, at international level!
  8. I like the way Lewisham do it in "leafy" (:-S) Sydenham. We have 2 wheely bins, one for ALL recycling, which IMO is a lot better than a seperate box and bag for various things (I think they do offer that option too). And one for other waste. We tend to pretty much fill the recycling one each week, but only about 1/3 fill the other one. Can't see why anyone would complain about them... ... But, a former colleague of mine who lived in Bexley did say he was a bit fed up with having 4 seperate wheely bins in his drive, and I must admit, that would seem a bit much!
  9. In other news, Hull have apparently shown an interest in signing Owen on a free. Surely he wouldn't go there, how the mighty have fallen! Villa also mentioned, and that would seem a better choice for him. Or ... Everton? He was a Liverpool player, but lets not forget he was a blue as a boy, and available on a free, so they could make an offer. Surely he's going to have to take a substantial pay cut wherever he goes! I still think he has something to offer if he stays fit. Don't think it's fair to judge him on Newcastle's last season, when he couldn't get a touch of the ball!
  10. Do you think that maybe there is some truth in the story that his feelings were hurt that he didn't get offered a contract earlier, and that he felt the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo would never have been made to wait? That is what his agent / owner is saying... Could be true, as he seems a bit of an emotional type, which I think is not a bad thing. What happened to the local rivalry between Man U and City though? Surely if he won't join Liverpool, he should be hesitant to join City... Shame Everton can't afford him, as I think he'd suit them well.
  11. Namaste is good, and have some good "meal deals".
  12. No, and before I go any further, I don't dislike Murray because he is Scottish. I do however think he comes across as a bit of a sh!t. Federer is an amazing player, and seems a nice chap. I also never much liked Sampras, and would like his record beaten rather than equalled.
  13. Hopefully Federer to beat Murray.
  14. Quids, I support one of the big 4, but can I join your thread please? Regarding Teves, I really like him, and would have loved his like at Liverpool, but really respect the fact he's ruled it out. Shows he's about more than cash, and respects the Man U fans' feelings, which I think is commendable.
  15. Thinking that anyone "deserves" to get killed makes you a bit of a nut IMO.
  16. Thing that gets me is that these threads are great fodder for internet trolls!
  17. I came home to my old flat near Sydenham station once a year or so ago, and there had been a stabbing, and the victim had managed to get to the station and call for help. My road was closed, and I explained to a senior looking officer, who was very helpful, and said he'd walk me to my door. He then got called away, and when I tried talking to a junior officer, he more or less told me to get lost, so I couldn't get in to my house for hours. I understand the need for all this, but as Jamma says, the attitudes can stink!
  18. Your opinion, to which you are entitled, and well voiced. Not so well voiced. Do you think that in every country around the world, meat, halal or not, is butchered in the way that you'd like it done?
  19. I was stopped and searched at a train station once, because a police dog got a whiff of my inhaler! It took half hour for them to go through my bag, unfold every little bit of paper in my wallet and all that. Made me very late for an appointment, and their attitude was shite, so yes, I think even innocent people would have a problem with police having this power all the time. One of my best mates is a Police Officer, and whilst he is a decent, sensible chap, I have met a lot of his colleagues, and a lot of them are just power hungry bullies, plain and simple. That is not to say the whole police force is like that, but it exists, and it's these ones who will be the first to stop and search someone!
  20. Do any of them just say "why are you telling me where you live, you weirdo"?
  21. Okay, not sad, what would you call it? Do you really think that stopping a few kids and taking a few knives off them will stop anything, I mean really really? Treat the cause not the effect. Oh, and your use of "Word" is quite street, respek yourself!
  22. What people, the SE London kids who carry knives? In the 90s I was a SE London school kid, and knew these "people", some of them were even friends. I think you are talking absolute garbage, and trying to make something huge and sinister out of something that is really just quite sad. Yes there will be exceptions, but most of these kids will get in to their 20s, and just grow up and realise how stupid they were being. Sorry if you think I am a LIBERAL, and I make you SICK, but have a bloody word with yourself!
