  1. Yeah yeah, great. Other people just want to by a couple of cheap rump steaks in a pack. Who cares. Much like some insist on vinyl, others are happy with the cd.
  2. Wii regards the house behind it, I think all the flats are actually full, so demolishing that would seem a touch harsh. I've always liked the concrete house, but it's not beautiful anymore, and I can't say as I'd miss seeing the mess that remains there.
  3. I really must get down there at some point, have never made it yet. Thing is, it is just so missable, they need to advertise more, a big flashing sign on the main road might help. If Foxtons can get away with their shop front, then surely a huge pink flashing arrow couldn't hurt!
  4. I can't believe I'm getting involved with this thread, but Sean, the butchers / veg shops would onlt really be threatened if a BIG (size of Sainsbury's) shop opened. A small Waitrose, or M&S would make no difference to them I reckon. Besides, not everybody gives a toss about the nice little local butcher, struggling to make a living, because he doesn't exist. I don't know why people would really want an M&S. Okay, they sell some nice bits, like the Valencia fresh orange ice lolly (try them, they rock!), but for the most part it's all just ready meals. Not that I'm a food snob like Sean, and would occasionally eat a ready meal if I was in need of a quick easy dinner, but a Waitrose would be much better. Aint likely to ever happen though.
  5. With regards, the website (which I've not looked at yet), could it simply be that people have got their screens set to different resolutions? Simple, but seems the obvious reason.
  6. I'd always thought it was simply because it was the main road towards the new crystal palace. They were flogging the name everywhere, before that, crystal palace itself was just part of penge wasn't it?

Hmmm, I'm still 600 ahead of Sean, I thought he'd have caught up a bit, but guess he's posting has dipped as much as mine. I do still have days where I post a lot, but nothing like I did a year ago! Can someone tell us who the biggest posters are at the mo, in terms of current post rate?

    Bravo!
  11. Because she is a woman, and not the scary boogey man, I very much doubt she'll get a fair trial.
  12. Dumb, or dumber? :-S
  13. The music teacher has always said that no child will miss out on the chance to play an instrument because their parents can't afford lessons. Good thing too, or else I would have been knackered!

WTF are you lot on about? Is there a new dealer in the area?
  15. Er, there is actually one more betting shop now than there used to be, and the same amount of chicken shops. Load of shite.
  16. The PM plays footy? ::o
  17. Best was also all over the press, front and back pages, and so became a bigger star, and will be remembered so. Beckham will also be remembered for years, whereas other great players, like Gerrard, Henry, *grits teeth* Lampard, Scholes, Giggs and so on, will be forgotten quite quickly after retirement. The fans of their clubs will always remember them, but lets be honest, who really talks about Robbie Fowler, Macca, Rush, Cantona*, Bergkamp, Petit, Van Nistleroy, even the young Owen, who seems like light years ago. Not suggesting Best wasn't great, but I do believe that a player who is in the press a lot will become hyped up and remembered as possibly greater than another player who just kept his head down and played. * Obviously the films keep him in the spot light.
  18. I don't think you can make the comparison, two different eras.
  19. Where are SP and red_devil? I want to know if you're pleased with the situation?
  20. I hope so Matt, but they say everyone has a price.
  21. Welcome back Moz, I for one, have missed you. Glad you're recovered from whatever.
  22. Green. Probably Labour in general election...

That said, I am far from cool, and love the 10 things I hate about you, take on Taming of a shrew!
