*bob*, you seem to really really dislike him. Or is it just that you don't like the hysteria. I mean, I had nothing at all against Princess Diana, yet a week after her death, I hated the woman.
  2. Bless Tommy & Gina, they stood their ground and never backed down.
  3. Funnily enough, the chips I had in 5 years of living up north, where pretty much exactly the feckin same as the chips I've had living down south. And when I got dragged for fish n' chips in Whitby, by an old girlfriend from that part of the world, I was wholey disappointed, as she'd led me to believe I was about to taste something really really special. It was basically fish n' chips. I am with the northerners on chips n' gravy though, although curry sauce is horrid.

    Ha ha, touche!
  5. I don't "like" Bon Jovi, and have never owned an album of theirs. I will just sing "Livin on a prayer" very loud when I'm drunk, just as I'd probably do to "Born in the USA" or some such nonsense. Doesn't make either of them particularly good. Besides David, shouldn't you be bopping around to the Arctic Monkeys or something? ;-)
  6. One last bump now it's Monday... Anyone?????
  7. I'm still with quids. Watched his glasto set, and thought "what a load of tedious shite". He's just a bloke with a loud shouty rock voice, and dull songs.
  8. Ahem, which LadyGooner recommended back in September 2008. Anyway, I second her recommendation.
  9. Last night we watched , and absolutely loved it! Only 75 minutes long, it's just a great little film, with lovely characters!

See your point *bob*, but if it weren't for the records, he'd not have been the freak show he turned out to be, because he might have lived a normal life.
  11. Blur looked like they enjoyed themselves. Whatever you think of them, that was a great sound!
  12. Cheers for viet Citizen, maybe you.re right. Like eagle though, I'm not the first in the family.
  13. I find moderation very hard, if I go to the pub early, I will be there til closing, so I try to think about getting there an hour later, so I start drinking later. If I'm having a drink indoors, I will again empty the fridge, so just have to buy a few, which is annoying, is it's cheaper to buy in bulk, but if it's there, I will drink it.
  14. I know that I drink too much, but when I think about stopping, life just looks so bleak. This thread has reinforced that, so I'll just keep on drinking.
  15. Hello EDFers. My mother-in-law was down in ED today, and has lost a black glasses case with a zip, and a little pocket on the front, in which she had her bank cards. She thinks it could have been on Northcross Road, where she was popping in and out of the shops, or around that part of Lordship Lane. At one point she actually passed out in one of the shops (she doesn't remember the name, she doesn't live in the area, but I think it might have been Ed), and wondered if she'd dropped it in the commotion. If anyone found this, or handed it in anywhere, please PM me, it would be really appreciated. Thanks.
  16. He has one of the best records against Federer, but in a grand plan final, on grass, I can't see him doing it. Then again, he seems to handle pressure very well, and it wouldn't be impossible, and I'd certainly give credit where it was due.
  17. Was impressive, but still don't think he'll beat Federer. I shall take my hat off to him if he does though, even if I don't like him.
  18. With regards teaching, yes you get school holidays with the kids, BUT, beware, as you cc end up working a lot at home in the evenings! My wife used to teach, and it felt like we never had down time together. And that was before baby, I dread to think how we'd manage if she had that work load, and a child!
  19. Brilliant! I'm looking forward to Big Bottom!

Quite! Never heard that, good one.
  21. Anyone who honestly holds that against the average English person today, is a tw@t in my opinion. I work with a Scots lass, and she says there is a feeling that Scotland is just forgotten, even in Scotland, they are overwhelmed with English footy, for example, yet it's difficult to watch a team other than old firm, when you're down here. She also said that she feels Scotland is the guinea pig country, where things are tried out, like the smoking ban. My only problem with Scotland is Alex Salmond. What a vile little man he is!
  22. Spinal Tap just played, I look forward to seeing the highlights of that.
  23. I never cheered Henman, and I don't cheer Murray. I support England in team sports, but as has already been said on the Wimbledon thread, tennis is an individual sport, and for a lot of fans, nationality doesn't really come in to it. That is how I feel.
