  1. Do you mean the Lodge CC? No beer on tap, and very expensive bottles will be my lasting memory.
  2. Houllier was the king of bad signings. I always thought that good french players went to Arsenal, and the left overs came to liverpool. He was a top man though.
  3. What Polly said. I also agree with Josh regarding that particular thread.
  4. Ha ha, he was amazingly bad.
  5. I can't wait, hoping to meet up with my aussie mate on Wednesday for some sitting in the pub watching the best cricket competition in the game.
  6. I thought we weren't talking about the course anymore? I'll bow out, as too often recently's I am wanting to argue with people in a really big way, that I don't really want to argue with at all.
  7. Must be bloody great being so bloody self assured about everything in the world and universe, and laughing at the naive.
  8. Especially when the main section has a thread about a man with a fecking suitcase! PeckhamRose, I suspect AFN would enjoy the fact s/he'd (I think she) been forum martyred by the do gooder liberals of ED.
  9. Well done AFN for turning a thread about a tragic fire, in to another chance to use the same old lines about ED, and the EDF. And then to start getting nasty to someone for picking you up on it. Class. Just no need for it, especially not on here. For my part by the way, I agree that this thread could have stayed in the main section, where there is more serious discussion. It wouldn't have been the first non ED specific thread to have stayed there, and given the subject, I don't think it would have hurt.
  10. No I didn't, but I also never said that they were the only OTT loons out there. My point was more to show up a stupid generalisation like Apologies to any "normal" Irish catholics out there.
  11. In all seriousness, as AFN says, they definitely don't have a right to put a cone there to save a place.
  12. What do you expect from Irish Catholics? Lets not tar everyone with therame brush.
  13. Put the cone on the roof of their car.
  14. Boring as it may be, that was my first thought.
  15. Well then you've got loads of options. I don't know if he's your better half, or just a mate, so not sure what you want to spend, but some ideas... 1. If he's in to a specific sport, such as cricket, talk to a team mate of his, and find out what would be a good bit of kit to get him, like a new bat or something. 2. Get him a couple of new games for his console (nice east option, and plenty of people on here would recommend games). 3. No ideas on poker 4. Buy him some ticket vouchers, so that he can use them to buy tickets when a gig he fancies comes up. (this is cool, because he may well take you, so you get something back ;-)). 5. Buy him a nice piece of Le Creuset cooking gear. As an Aussie, I'm guessing he likes steak, in which case, you can't go wrong with one of these. 5. And Tony, with a 10 week old baby, I don't think I'd have the energy to make the best of your gift to be quite honest, so it's probably wasted on me.
  16. Agreed, the second series not as good. The songs are still great, but the story is just getting tired IMO.
  17. Lyndsey, other than the fact he's 30 and male, do you know anything about him, like what he;s in to? That would make quite a big difference to the advise. Some 30 year olds would like nothing more than a games console, whilst others would be completely disinterested, and prefer some sort of musical gadget (I am probably somewhere between the 2). Give us a bit more info, and I promise to try and make a sensible suggestion.
  18. Thank you Sean, and yes, that is what I meant, sorry, thought it was pretty clear.
  19. Hurrah! Happy birthday.
  20. Can we please have a Sydenham section of the east Dulwich forum?
  21. Will seem really odd seeing him in a united shirt, that's for sure. Still, Liverpool never wanted him back, and he now has the chance to build a partnership with Rooney, and possibly get his England place back. I do believe he is a player, like Beckham, who still really wants to play for his country, and in that sense, he couldn't ask for a better move.
  22. If a set goes to 6 games all, it goes to a tie breaker, the winner of which wins the set 7-6. If the match goes to a final set, there is no tie breaker, and it must be won by 2 clear games, however long that takes.
  23. I was starting to warm to him slightly, then he played a really cocky shot in the first set, after which I really wanted him to get crushed! He will win grand slams though, he is a great age, with Roger probably only having couple of years left.
  24. Surely you'd rather this, than some backwater hospital that just said,"yeah, seems okay". If it makes you feel better, we had 5 scans at St Thomas', and they're meant to be pretty good too.
