  1. Okay, maybe they did, and I missed them. The wine was in the fridge if I remember rightly. Aaaanyway, I'm not trying to "diss" G&B, I was just sharing one experience. I was probably naive, and asked for help, but didn't say "I'm looking to spend ?10-?15" or anything like that, so my fault. It was a very nice wine by the way.
  2. Obviously it's natural to worry, but just try to look at it as a good thing they're keeping such a close eye on things! Also, average is only average because so many are above and below it. I wouldn't think about it too much if you can help it. Best of luck to you though, it's all rather interesting when they turn up.
  3. Fair enough, they didn't then, but I am talking about a while ago, as don't often go down Lordship Lane to buy booze (to take home).
  4. Wonder how the echo would feel if he was a Man U fan ;-)
  5. It could have changed since then, but when I last popped in to G&B to buy a nice bottle of wine, I spoke to the guy, and ended up walking away with a ?23 bottle, because by that point I was too proud to say I didn't really want to spend that much. Some price labels would be good, IMO. I know some may find this idea crass, and unclassy, but these people are pretentious knobs in my view.
  6. We'l have to agree to disagree. I could stab someone on the way back from a rock concert, I wouldn't expect to make the entertainment pages.
  7. Sorry to drag this old thread up. Just heard on the news that Ofsted are sticking the knife back in to Haringey council. This makes me angry in 3 seperate ways. 1. What the f**k do Ofsted know about anything?!?!?!?!?!? 2. The government are the reason councils struggle like they do, and are basically as much to blame for the failings IMO. 3. The constant press coverage of this case is awful, and who the hell wants to go and take a job in Haringey now! I'm not saying Haringey don't deserve a bit of a kick in the arse, but the way this entire case has been handled and reported is a really sad reflection on this country, and the tabloid needs of the masses!
  8. Nope, it was always going to be you! ;-)
  9. Ha ha, good one! >:D<
  10. Not remotely genuine, but even if it was, I'd say "it serves you right for parking on a double red line you knob, now feck of you cheeky bastard!". Or something like that.
  11. I hadn't realised talk of Owen going to United was true until just now. Well, if any Liverpool fans didn't already hold a grudge against him, they will now. Personally, I hope he does well and revives his England career, you never know. Why should he show any loyalty to Liverpool now, when he's been booed at Anfield. Still, quite a shock. By the way, can someone tell me why the top story on the Liverpool section of the beeb is about the fan in jail being refused a pardon. So what if he's a Liverpool fan, that isn't sports news, I want to hear something about the football club. Don't know too much about the story, but other than him saying he's innocent, is there much evidence to suggest he is?
  12. Ptpdjw they could impose some sort of time rule. I can understand them not wanting a load of people drunk at 10 at night, but this just sounds like kill joy behavior.
  13. With gout, there are undoubtedly non conventional ways of dealing with it. My point was simply that if you can't be arsed, and you enjoy your current diet, then drugs are the way forward.
  14. Booze is bad for it, but I think pills are fine, so go for your life!

No one has said they hate you, but you go on about truth, and flatly refuse to give any evidence whatsoever as to your "truth", so are we supposed to just blindly go along with what you tell us?
  16. It's called Private Parts, and yes it's a great film IMO.

Easy tiger, lets not go putting words in to people's mouths.
  19. I doubt it'll change that much. Yes it's been done up, but same owners, so suspect it'll just stay as a pub, but a bit of a nicer pub.
  20. Can I just jump in here, and ask people to STOP quoting entire posts in order to supply a one line comment. It is really annoying (much in keeping with this thread I guess).

AFN, same error as antijen. Side with a loon (even if they may make an initial valid point), and you'll soon be tarred with the same loon brush. PRO seems to have gone quiet, and is either cracking up laughing at this thread, or planting a bomb under Sainsbury's.
  22. Well, to the likes of citizen, and Mick, I hope I can prove to be as sensible and controlled as you (that is not meant in a sarcy way). I just don't want to get all preachy about it, having not been in the situation yet, which you guys both have.
  23. I honestly respect all that stuff, but if you want to keep your life style, and support your drinking habits (if you're me), go for the drugs! Gowaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!!!!!

Yeah, I did it for a bit, then stopped, and was fine for a couple of years (maybe just an occasional twinge) but have had 3 attacks this year, and the most recent (only a month or two ago) lasted a good 2 weeks, so I decided it was worth going in for the long haul.

MM, antijen was referring to the people in Maurice's clip, who gave a nearly new walking frame to someone who apparently needed it. It does make sense it context, it's still not convincing to me though. I actually respect what whose people were trying to do, I just dear that in siding with PROsouthwark, antijen has gotten a bit carried away.
