  1. Steve, by the time these people are granted leave to remain, which is when they will get the housing, and not before, they have the same rights as you or I. Would you go and live in a camp? Anyway, I suspect you posted that to make mischief, naughty man.
  2. Tevez move to Man City is a done deal apparently. Good signing for them, good financial move for him, but bad move if he wanted to win more things (in the immediate future anyway). Sir Alex now saying his business is done for the summer. To be honest, I think their signings (Owen included) will prove successfull. Would like to see the pool sign another couple, but both Rafa, and Sir Alex have talked about the inflated markets... Although unfortunately, we didn't benefit with ?80m from said market!

    10,000th post

So here it is. 10,000 posts on the EDF (plus a few unregistered ones). This is what comes of losing all motivation in a job, but staying for a couple of years, then getting a new job, with lots of time to "work" from home. Quite strange to think that when this forum started, I was neither married, or a dad. How things change! Not sure what else to say. On the one hand, I feel a bit sad (in the "get a life" way) to be the first here. On the other, I am proud, as this forum, for all it's faults, is for the most part, a good thing. Besides, I did most of my posting during work time, so as to leave evenings for having a life! :)-D So, cheers to everyone on the EDF, thanks for making me laugh, thanks for making me furious, thanks for making those office hours go by quicker. I knew a couple of posters before (Piers being the only one who posts regularly these days, unless CrystalClear gets drunk and fancies letting off some steam in the early hours), but I have met some quality people through this here forum, a couple of whom I now count amongst my bezzie pals! For that, if nothing else, it has all been worth it. Hurrah!!!! :)-D *wanders off to get drunk*
  4. I don't think they're uncool, I just hate sitting on them, they are uncomfortable, and surely a sofa needs to be something cozy.
  5. Flintoff should be dropped. He is a good powerful bowler, but nothing that can't be replaced, and his batting hasn't been special (not that anyone else in the team has been good either). "Freddy" became a legend in 2005, and rightly so, but frankly, he's been living off it ever since. Would rather just have a team that you knew were going to be fit more often than not, and not have people having to make way for Flintoff whenever he decides his knee is up to it.
  6. Not had one at West Ham, but did once (2003 or 04) have a chicken tikka pie at Bristol City, which was probably the most vile thing I have ever tasted!

    Thankyou

Who the hell is in this "certain clique of EDF users" who threw this tirade of abuse at you? Call me paranoid, but I guess you're talking about the likes of me, Sean, Mockney Piers and so on (not that I think I'm in a "clique" with any of them). . Sean said he'd like to have seen that thread removed very early on. I said I thought it was funny that CC had had a drunken rant at 2:30 in the morning, but never took a side. Who exactly threw a tirade of abuse at you Steve? LegalEagle-ish agreed with the point about your posts, but that is up to her, she didn't throw a load of abuse at anyone from what I saw.
  8. Okay, all players at their peak. 4-4-2 (diamond) GK Oliver Kahn RB Gary Neville *shuuders* (even though he can't cross for sh!t) CH Bobby Moore CH Tony Adams LB Roberto Carlos RW McManaman CM Claude Makalele CM Maradona LW Ronaldinho CF Robbie Fowler CF Ian Wright Subs: Giggs, Ronaldo (the striker), Gerrard, Rio, Gazza, Quite an attacking line up for me. I know it's probably not the best 11, but it's MY personal favourite 11 (Gary Neville is not, and never will be a favourite of mine, but have to give him credit).
  9. I would be Quids. I'd still mention Liverpool, but more about how they got on in their game last Saturday, rather than "my team is better than your team", or "sir, sir, he said something nasty to me" (after I'd wound him up). F*cks sake, Henry and Cantona, both jolly good players. Who was best, is in the eye of the beholder. I, for example, would have Robbie Fowler ( circa '95 / '95) in my dream 11, and am sure many people would tell me I could pick better strikers, but I like him, so there.

    Br?no

Much like Borat, but Borat was a better character. Think I'll wait for the DVD of this one.
  11. Aisling. have a look at THESE, and you should pick up a face or 2 to look out for.
  12. Ratty, I thought you'd said on here in the past that, rivalries aside, you'd hate to see a club in under.
  13. I hope he is, he is still a quality bowler.
  14. What Piers said.
  15. Skin of teeth comes to mind.

    Trade for a Gibson!
  17. Bugger, would have loved to PGC, but at a friend's birthday thingy. 3 Tons in one innings does not bode well.
  18. Rosie, think my favourite pub, and the name makes sense. He has another name on here too though.
  19. I admit that CC, is one of my best mates in the real world, and I know he posted this when really drunk at 2:30 in the morning, that is why I laughed, because it was a funny rant. I do think he would have been better just sticking to the housing thread rather than starting this. I know what you're saying about going against the liberal norm, and questioning immigration. In fact, people like myself and Jeremy supported some of these questions, Tony just went a bit OTT with it, and held on to it like a dog with a bone. Tony has never said anything overtly racist, but A LOT of people have raised questions about whether or not he is. Personally, I have no idea if he is a racist, or just an old school white Londoner, but I can see why people have made assumptions. When I first saw Tony's user name, and where he lived, I admit to immediately labelling him as a racist flamer. Since then, he has become quite a big part of the forum (for better or worse), and I think I was hasty. I do however think that he doth protest too much on occasion. Sometimes he makes me laugh though.
  20. *blushes* I had seriously considered starting a new thread called 9999, and then seeing how long I could go without posting the big one... Although, with unregistered posts, and the musings of Slosh, I might have already done the big one.
  21. If you do go TT, let me know, we might be up for it again.
  22. Went to watch this production on Thursday night, and it was great. Lovely script, lots of humour, and good actors. You wander to different areas of the park for different scenes, and it really is rather nice. On tonight and tomorrow, then moving to Oxleas Woods, then Southwark Park. I'd really recommend!

    LOL Posts

  24. LOL!!!!! That has made my Saturday morning!
  25. I just think it's hilarious that CC posted this at half 2 in the morning. I can confirm it was the housing and immigration thread that led to this thread.
