  1. LOL. Wrong, but good.
  2. Okay Piers, we all know you're really clever, and pick up on all he gripping subtleties that happen in the scenes the rest of us find dull ;-) How about that Titanic, that was too long, but what a masterpiece!
  3. LOL! I know it's not a funny thing, but that reaction didn't do much to expel certain stereotypes.
  4. I'd have young over Downing any day.
  5. To be fair, Deerhunter is long and really quite dull in a lot of places. I also thought the first Godfather was a bit dull. Each to their own.
  6. Can't remember the name or the password?
  7. 9/11 I was in a mini bus travelling from Portsmouth to Hindhead (where I was living and training at the time). Radio said they'd had reports of 2 plane crashes in New York City, and more or less dismissed it as a joke. Got back and turned tv on just as the second tower fell. Sat watching open mouthed. Now that really was a weird day.

Aw, thanks Moos. I kept hold of that crush too, just for sentimental value :))
  9. Classic and dark film. Doubt there is any historical truth to the russian roulette scenes. Although apparently there were cases of teens dying of gunshots to the head following the film, for which it was blamed.
  10. HonaloochieB + Snorky = *bob* I am genuinely unsure about dazie. She has digs at the forum, especially Sean, which are sometimes funny IMO, but sometimes a bit nasty. There are reasons to believe she has had other names, but I am not quite sure she is Spangles30 / NatashaD / FelicityNormal, whom I am certain are the same person (well not certain, in that I have no proof, but the spidey sense always said so). My first thought on reading dazie's thread about the flashing incident, was the same as *bob*'s, but then I reread it, and thought it did sound pretty genuine. Unlike Felicity's Lothario classic. I am therefore willing to give dazie benefit of the doubt. If, however, it is a "joke", then it's a weird one, and really not funny.
  11. No f**king way! That has got to be utter bollocks!
  12. Yeah, and what a lot of good that did us. You don't mention Kuyt, who is a striker, not a winger. I personally would like to see a winger brought in. RE: Bellamy, he has talent, I don't think anyone would honestly question that. He has 2 major weaknesses however. 1. He is injuried a lot. And 2, which is much more important, he is only mildly less of a liability than Barton! He's a nasty piece of work, who even fights his own team. I hope he never ever gets the chance to pull on a Liverpool shirt again! Oh, and he's bloody Welsh of all things! ;-)
  13. See my above comment RE "Saved by the bell" (possibly "the college years"),
  14. Feck off! Don't even say that as a joke please!
  15. In Liverpool we used to drink 2l of "Pulse8" (8% white cider) before a night out. Think it was only about ?2 a bottle, and would mean you didn't need to spend too much on drink once you got out... If you got out after that.

  17. It surprises me how much cider is back in fashion, and surprises me even more that I have started enjoying one on occasion. Pear cider however, is just wrong. It's far too sweet.
  18. That ad may as well have a slogan "Even gay guys (who we all know have better style than straight ones) love our sofas!"
  19. Getting rid of him will be great for the Arsenal. He had one really good season, but since then, he's been a disgrace. Hopefully City will pay you well over the odds for him. From what Wenger has said though, I think he'd use the money to tighten up the back, rather than buying a replacement forward. Could be wrong though. I honestly thought that it may be Wenger who offered Owen his shock return to a top 4 club, as he's been a long time admirer.

I was going to start a29999" thread, and post "Over to you Sean", and see if I could stay off the forum til Sean made the 10000. Sean then started the thread about my being close to 10000, so I thought the gesture would look empty ;-)

  24. Elvis - I was safely inside my mum's tummy, about 7 months before I made an appearance. Diana - I was living in Liverpool, had 2 friends from London staying, so had been out on the Saturday. Came down stairs Sunday morning and put telly on to watch "Saved by the bell" or some such Sunday morning nonsense. Diana on every channel, thought it must be her birthday, until they showed a picture with the birth and death dates under it. Was then disappointed to hear they'd cancelled Liverpool Vs Newcastle that afternoon! Jacko - At home stoned, got a text from mate, thought it was a joke, had a look at BBC website, then came on here and saw thread had alreadt started.
