  1. I hear the food at The Palmerston is pretty shite too! Scott, I appreciate the offer, and may take you up on it, although I'll buy a pint back (once I am less skint). I don't really know why you'd want to bother though, your place is always packed with punters, and no one can please everyone! I take my "shite" description back, as it doesn't really say what I mean. I have had some nice times out back drinking in the warm weather, and even one or 2 afternoons inside... There are just other places I personally prefer the "vibe" of. My real thing is that I hate it in The Bishop at the weekends, it is just too busy for my liking, not my kind of group, and I don't like the attitude of your doormen (I have never been removed from the place, this is not a bitter man talking). Like I say though, you do great business, and good luck to you, luckily for both of us, there are enough bars in the area to cater for all tastes.
  2. We've just decided to pull out of buying a flat, very late on. The vendors basically refused us access to the flat to check a couple of things from the survey until we exchange... No call me suspicious, but WTF?!?!? Guess they were worried we'd try and knock the price down, but for me, you don't refuse your buyers access unless there is somethign to hide! Pain in the bum, but I'd rather start again once the mortgage market has calmed a bit. 6.59% fixed for 3 years was just insane!
  3. Annaj and I discovered that we share a fondness for a particular duet, so you never know, should we both be drunk enough...
  4. I think PSCOs are a good way to go, they're not going to throw her in a cell, they'll get her the help she needs if indeed she needs it. If she is just taking the p!ss them she'll know they're on to her.
  5. Complete myth, I send the wife to do the shoppin whilst I loiter outside bars hoping to catch the eye of very drunk and lonely women. It's a gift you know.
  6. Moos, your mum's nail varnish would have been a great "tactic"!
  7. Damn you, that was to be my next hilarious contribution!
  8. Wouldn't say that, Mrs Keef loved it. I mean come on, you don't go to a bloody Tex Mex for fine dining, and if you do, you're a fool. Tex Mex is about having some tastey enough grub whilst getting p!ssed up before going on elsewhere to get more p!ssed up... Isn't it? :-S
  9. Vegetarian Bible Mrs Keef loves it, which is cool, because I grabbed it having no idea what I was doing!
  10. Just for the record, Whateley ends at the junction with Crystal Palace Road. Underhill starts at the CPT.
  11. Give the Mag a go, maybe you'll Strike it Lucky...
  12. For whom we present this ode.
  13. Looks like the mob who read (and even more scarily, listen to) The Sun will be feeling that some justice has been done. Love the fact they are calling it a great victory for them, having called for sackings. They say that people have been "removed from posts". They fail to mention that they are suspended on full pay. HA!!!! What really annoyed me yesterday was that this report was carried out by Ofsted! They can't even give an accurate report on a school, let alone childrens services! Why the hell were CSCI (Commission for social care inspection) not involved? They are FAR from perfect either, but at least they understand the bloody field they were inspecting! Absolute load of trash just to keep the blood hounds quiet! Interestingly, the new people they are putting in will have to report monthly to the secretary of state. Does this mean that if another child is killed in a flat somewhere in the middle of the night by some nasty piece of work, the secretary of state will be called upon to resign? Actually, I shouldn't even joke, as nothing would surprise me in this country. I am surprised we're not bringing back hanging.
  14. I was going to say " and show your mother some tantra", and wasn't sure it would go down very well.
  15. He's been there for so so long, I think I'd be a bit miserable if I had been seeing the same 4 walls 7 days a week for 30+ years!
  16. There are enough of you to have your very own forum by the looks of it.
  17. Must have slept funny, as something in my neck doesn't like it when I turn my head!
  18. I'll throw back my hood,
  19. Oh well, fair play hammers, from the bbc website it sounds like you were trying to score on the counter at the end rather than just defending, so good on ya. As for Liverpool, this is the second time we have failed to take advantage of Chelsea dropping points. Okay, so we are 1 point up, but not really feeling reassured...
  20. Is single an absolute must?
  21. Ha ha, Mrs Keef, after 28 years of being veggie, still Misses the bacon sandwiches her dad used to make her, and still looks at mine with envy when I cook one up on a Saturday morning! Those weird pretend bacon rashers that look ike insoles are just wrong! Anyway, back to the original post, I bought Mrs Keef a "veggie bible" which she says is great. I shall check the details and post them here later.
  22. Don't think Anna or I will be... I am concerned about the pool lasting the distance, so any gap we can get would be good for us! We also have a hell of a crimbo period with big games including the derby.
  23. Not just ANY, Alan, THE if you please!
  24. I did cast my vote for the green, but was actually quite torn when I looked at the short list. Mayow park is very close to where I live, and is a nice little park (with a popular little playground), but very plain, and doesn't look very cared for. Maryon Park in Charlton is near where I work, and is very interesting from a historical perspective. Avery Hill Park has a lovely (I'm guessing victorian) winter garden (hothouse) with all sorts of tropical plants, that apparently needs repair. Another that is not on the list, but that would definitely have gotten my vote for childhood memories would be the Hornimans Triangle. Always depresses me to go past there and see the empty paddling pool and battered old climbing frames! Although that helicoptor was the dogs dangglies when I was a kid.
  25. Springsteens "santa claus is coming to town" is a lively number. FTONY has indeed been overplayed, but when you hear covers of it, you realise just how good the original is. When Kirsty follows "I could have been someone" with "and so could anyone, you took my dreams from me, when I first found you", her voice is absolutely heartbreaking!
