  1. Pheonix CPT (especially now it has changed in the "new side". Wishing Well (purely for kareoke purposes, and relaxed closing time!)
  2. Shouldn't be an issue at the forum drinks. I was in there recently before getting a train to the fireworks at Blackheath, and thought to myself it seemed nicer than when I was last there about 3 or 4 years back! East for buses back to the hood too.
  3. I hate people puking on the street, especially when they make no effort to get to a drain or something.
  4. I personally think the 2nd is a bad idea. yes all for sticking to the first friday of the month in general, but think it would be a very poor turn out! Besides, who the hell spends the 1st under a duvet. The 1st is all about drinking off the 31st and starting the year as you mean to go on! Personally I'd say the 9th works better, it would also be something to do in January which can be a bit dull after the festive season is done. Venue... I like The Gowlett a lot, but wouldn't vote for it, 3 times in 18 months is a lot when other places have only been done once, or possibly not at all, and if the other night showed us anything, it'd that we should be prepared to venture to parts unknown, and we just might have a good time... How about the Pheonix? The have the nice balcony area that they can reserve for groups, and it's not a bad place actually. Plus we can all pile back to Piers' after for Wii and wine ;-)
  5. Quality!
  6. Ivy? Miserable old battleaxe from Corrie, that's the only Ivy that matters!
  7. He and Emma Thompson were great in that film! Keanu as the plain dealing villan... Not so much!
  8. This was posted in the what's on section if anyone is interested. This team is the team that Dave (our fast bowling captain from the game earlier in the year) has always played for until now. I play friendly cricket for small club called Belair Corinthians in Belair Park, about a 5 minute walk from the Crown & Greyhound. We?ve seen the Stanford millions coming into the game and, well frankly we want a piece of the action. However, despite a fine record against some pretty tough friendly local oppo last season, apparently we?d have to win a national domestic competition to qualify. Undaunted, we?ve identified a local league as our first step on the ladder to cricketing fame and fortune. However we realise that if we?re to make it big, we may need help. We?re looking for players. Appreciate it?s a funny time of year to be recruiting, but if we?re to go ahead and join a league we need to be confident of having a decent squad of players. If you?ve played cricket to pretty much any standard, and fancy a bit of regular cricket next summer, then please give me a shout. Thanks - Jim
  9. I really hope it didn't sound that bad on the night! I hope the backing track sounded a bit louder.
  10. *Takes deep breath* If the photo is nowhere else on the internet, and on your home PC 1. Do exactly what you already did to attach it. 2. View the post, and click the attachment to open the photo. 3. Copy the URL of the photo (in the adress bar at the top, copy is Ctrl C) 4. Come back to post, and click "edit post" 5. In the texp box, get the cursor where you'd like the photo to be (either at the bottom, or midway through if you want more text below it). 6. Click the little button with the sun setting over a mountain (4th in from the left, between the Italic and the globe). 7. When the prompt window pops up, paste (Ctrl V) the URL from step 3 in to it and click OK. You will now see some code entered in to your past, this should mean the photo will be there when you click "save changes". If the photo is elsewhere on the web This is easier, similar to above, just find the photo on the web, 1. right click on it, and go to properties. 2. Highlight the image URL in the properties, and copy it (Ctrl C). Then come back and do stages 6 & 7 from above. Hope that makes some sense.

You never know bob... Not sure what time they'll tell s to shut up, but hopefully you'll get t hear a song or 2.
  12. Yeah, I am totally sure that any other party would immediately open up the road for you! Come on, the TITLE of this thread says Peckham, it's clearly not about East Dulwich, and it's a load ofshite, please chuck it in the Lounge where hopefully it'll be forgotten and disappear!

We actually joked about doing the latter, but no, I think we shall crash through one or 2, but they will be rather unrehearsed, so we'll save them for later in the evening when everyone is well oiled!
  15. The guy from behind the bar came round to ask for our votes, and we just told him to stick our whole party down for the Yogi Bear song. One of his mates did come up to me later and say he'd voted for me though, bless him. I didn't hear any of the yuppy comments, and found most of the locals to be really friendly. There was no confrontation that I saw all night. I absolutely love all the carpentry behing the bar too, proper proper old school pub! CPT still has it, but it's not taken care of, whereas this looked like it was regularly varnished and polished. Shame for the wine drinkers about the Pino G (vastly over rated wine IMO), but they had decent beer and whiskey, so I was happy enough. Brendan and Tillie, real shame you guys missed it, I was chatting to Annasfield who also missed it, and we were thinking of arranging another Friday down there sometime for anyone who fancies a few beers and a sing song! By the way, who was the lovely Geordie lass newbi who made it to the bitter end and stumbled back towards Dulwich with the rest of us? Remember her saying her user name was Japanese, but other than that it is all very very hazy! Nice to meet you anyway!
  16. Yep, you've got the right freak.
  17. Shouldn't this thread be in the lounge, as it certainly isn't ED specific! ;-)
  18. I work in the area, really wouldn't recommend the bus, there are several that serve the area, but it is a pain in the bum.

Absolutely. I never disliked it, I just never watched it. I'd much rather that than X Fctor or I'm a celebrity! Rachel used to be in a pop band though, and has obviously had some experience, which is why I'm not quite so keen on her. She is a fantastic dancer though, and probably will win it... That said, if it's purely down to public vote in the final (is it?), I'm not sure she's the most popular of the remaining 3. Worth thing about Austen going was losing the lovely Erin, who I openly admit to fancying big time!
  20. I've never tried Omrith, but at a gig on the 17th, and playing a gig on the 18th, so might have to have a night in... Will definitely keep my eye on the thread!
  21. Chener books to become a Waterstones, hot off the press!
  22. Gillian McKeith is actually evil! I remember seeing her programme once, and she told this lady of approx 45/50ish, who had once been a model, that she was going to give her a makeover. She then had a make up artist go to work and make the woman look really old with bags under eyes, and cracked skin. Now this is the cruelest bit, before showing her the mirror, she came in and put a tiara and sash on the woman, and then put the mirror in front of her! The woman was absolutely distraught, and the good Dr (WTF?) calmly told her this is what she'd look like if she ever had a red wine again! She is a fecking nasty nasty piece of work, and if she ever came in to my home, I would slap her face with a raw steak (before cooking it in a load of fat and topping it with a very creamy sauce, and eating it with a huge glass of red!).
  23. Good one! >:D< By the way, Green & Blue is closing and being taken over by Wetherspoons, FACT! Oh, and Le Chardon is to close and become a Subway, FACT!

    Strictly Purism

It was very good. I have in the last 2 weeks become a strictly fan, but was gutted Austen got voted off, I voted for him last week (I can't believe I did that), but this week he just had the wrong dance. Not sure who I want to win now, Tom obviously loves it, and they are the most "fun" couple.
