  1. LOL *bob* Still, I quite like James' idea, would be a good competition if you just had one "best neighbouring business" award! THE DOG, Hoopers, Ganapati, The Hob, The Duke, The Nun's Head (well I did get one non pub in there), the chocolate shop, and so on.
  2. I quite like the guys who stand up and preach on the bus. I hate all the mutters and tuts from (usually white middle class) people. I don't believe everything they say by a long shot, but I respect the passion they show, and would rather listen to someone talking with passion about something they believe in, than a load of school kids shouting about something that was "bare funy bruv".
  3. And in other news, Hatton's camp claim that Mayweather Jnr has contacted them about a rematch that Hatton has always said he wanted, but they're saying that they want Manny Pacquiao. I imagine Hatton would feel he had a better chance against Pacquiao, as he's never lost at Light Welter. If he took on Mayweather again it would probably mean going back up, and I think he'd get taken apart again to be quite honest, but at least then he'd have no one else to blame. I'm changing the title of this thread to make it a general boxing one, as we have footy and cricket, and I know there are some boxing fans on here to use it.
  4. Blackburn have appointed Big Sam... Some exciting footy on the way for their fans then :-S Jah, I keep meaning to get back down to the Hamlets, lets do it in the near future!
  5. James I kind of agree with what you say, but again it raises the question of where one draws the line?
  6. Why don't you send them a PM pointing it out then, or just point it out on a thread? I can totally appreciate how the EDF is a bit cliquey, it's not meant to be, but that is the way it has turned out. I don't think anyone tries to be rude though, and if you were talking about me, I'd be gutted, and like to know what I'd said to offend. (unless you mean the 343 bus thread, in which case it's a bit late to take it all back)
  7. Cate & JamesG, all the places you mention are great, as are other places in Peckham/Camberwell. Believe me, if I could vote for Ganapati, I would in a flash, but they simply are not in East Dulwich, and if these are the East Dulwich awards arranged by the people at the East Dulwich Forum, I don't see how you can call that snobbery, it is just geography, plain and simple. I doubt organisers of a Peckham awards, of Forest Hill awards would allow someone to noninante the Bishop.
  8. England beat Australia in Blind Ashes test! My colleague is over in Oz at the moment as team manager, his son, Matt Dean being England Captain. Well done all of them! The Australians however have not taken defeat well, what a surprise!
  9. All good questions Jeremy, also when fighting someone with a huge reach, will he be able to get inside? Jah, that Holyfield fight is insane, and whoever has said it can go ahead should be sacked! A shame, as he coul have left quite the legacy, and still will do in a way, but it will be blemished by not knowing when to stop. He's not the first to make that mistake though.
  10. Seeing this made me think of New Years Resolutions, and how we all have good intentions and plans for the coming year, and how more often than not, we have forgotten them come February! This year I am going to try and make a couple of new years resolutions, that I actually want to keep (very important), and stand a chance of doing. So, I'm not going to say I'll give up smoking, because I know I won't, and I really don't want to, even if it would be wise for several reasons. So come on, have you been thinking about any NYRs, or have you made any in the past which you've stuck to, or failed at miserably?
  11. What do the boxing fans out there think of David Haye? I have to admit I am actually rather excited by the idea of him taking on Vitali Klitschko next year. He is already a proven world champ, but to step up to heavyweight, and avoid all the journey men, going for the best fighter (of admittedly a limited current crop) shows he has guts and believes in himself. I like to see a smaller heavyweight who has some speed, but he can also throw a hell of a punch! I also don't find him too cocky, he has ambitions, but I quite like listening to him, because he doesn't rubbish his opponents like many boxers do. Refreshing to see after having to listen to Joe Calzaghe telling us how great he is for years, having "beaten"* a couple of old timers. * many don't think he beat Hopkins.
  12. Oh, fair enough. That's a bit rubbish though. I've never tried lunching, but have never struggled to find places to drink. :-$
  13. As you can probably tell from MP & Sean, if you really want to spend hours and hours playing games with amazing graphics, and shooting things, Xbox is probably the way to go... For multi player fun, it has to be Wii. Wii fit worth it just for the ski jump! And I can't wait to open my snow boarding game from Mrs Keef this christmas! :)-D
  14. Go for a Wii. I don't really play games very much on my own, but whenever friends are round we end up playing bowling, olympic games, or guitar hero! All good fun, especially when combined with drink and/or a joint!
  15. New Years Day is usually just like any other bank holiday, so you should be fine with most places.
  16. Bristol is mainly made up of City and Rovers fans, don't see a lot of prem shirts down there.
  17. I like the idea of being a Pioneer!
  18. Hmmm, so you guys actually get to work on time? I'm on the bus... Drinking.
  19. I no longer bother looking at the majority of threads, but sometimes you can still dig up a gem. Besides, once upon a time we had great fun and games in our Quiet Room before it was ruined. Only fair that newer posters have their fun too. Basically though I agree it's not what it used to be, but lets not be like those tossers who like a band, but then go off them because they get popular and are just too comersial man! ;-)
  20. Squares are great, they still exist, and they're still crunchy!
  21. I didn't get in to football really properly til I was living in Liverpool, would've been odd to then announce I supported Palace or Millwall. I'm not middle class though so doesn't matter ;-)
  22. Well that gives Anna ultimate super fan powers then! She's not a true fan though, she told me she's going on holiday and will miss a match. And you call yourself a red!
  23. It is correct, but hold on to your stuff in there.
  24. Careful emc, he's only actually admitting to being equal to, or more than 3... You might want some more details before you hook up! ;-)
