  1. Did my church bit on Sunday, helping out with the choir for the carol service. I shall drink through tonight guilt free! :)-D
  2. To be fair, a small band of us have been keeping the CPT open for years now, so I feel I can hold my head up... Besides, if the stupid pubs would stop being so selfish, and open on Christmas day, I'd be in there emptying my wallet! Which reminds me... A few years back the then manager of the CPT said to me "I can't believe this man, the one night I get to shut up, everyone's with their families, and I'm sat here on my own. Would rather open up!"... Guess that's the problem when most of the bar staff of London are thousands of miles away from family at crimbo time!
  3. And a merry crimbo to you SP... despite your club being scummers! Intersting facts ahead of Liverpool Vs Bolton, not that history counts for a lot. Liverpool are chasing a fifth successive Premier League victory over Bolton to ensure they will complete the first half of this Premier League campaign at the top of the table. The Merseysiders celebrated Christmas at the top of the tree for the first time in 12 years and a record equalling 16th time all told. Liverpool have gone on to win the title on 10 of the 15 occasions they previously were on pole position on 25 December, but the most recent of these was the 1987-88 season. Should they avoid defeat here, Rafa Benitez' club will have gone through the calendar year with an unbeaten home league record.
  4. Was only messing, although did say to Mrs Keef after "of all the things he could have asked about..." ;-)
  5. What Monica said! (less the wet kisses for bob of course)
  6. What Brendan said. It was only 12 years ago that I was 18, and felt I was all grown up and cool, and hung out in pubs thinking I was as hardened a drinker as anyone there... Now at 30, I look at the new 18 year olds, and think "was I ever that young"? Scary stuff! That said, if you want to score some gear, they're probably worth talking to! :)-D
  7. Bloody hell, good point!!!! :-$ Right, anyone know of anywhere doing good offers on crates?
  8. Don't listen Anna, I have never forgiven him for the one time he ate at mine during a film night, when all but ONE thing seved up was made an/or cooked from scratch by either myself or Mrs Keef, including the bread, the humous, the tzatziki the garnish on the lamb steaks etc etc... What did Sean do... He asked "So, did you make this Piri Piri sauce yourself? Grrrrrrr!!!!!! (6)
  9. LOL, Good description! I liked Lord of the flies a lot, but was put off a bit when we had to do an essay on all the religious parallels :-S
  10. Just making my way in, and hoping to sneak off around 2 if there are no managers around... Looking forward to a beer tonight!

Spot on! Anna, you've said what a fan of Rachel you were, could that not have just slightly turned you against Tom? I think you're a bit harsh, he seemed nice enough to me. Anyway, Rachel better dancer than Tom, Camilla more interesting choreographer than Vincent (Argentine tango meant to be his speciality, but found theirs dull, in Rosie's words, brilliant but meh) Tom better entertainer than Rachel, Tom won the prime time Saturday night entertainment telly. Sorted.
  12. Him, being really grown up, reasonable, and serious about it all. Me, shaking head in all too familiar belief! >:D<
  13. Forget agree, do most catholics actually know what he is saying? Admittedly, I am not catholic, so may lack the gift, but I heard this on the news this morning, and I've read the link from Sean, and yet I haven't got a clue what he's actually trying to say! I'm not 100% sure he actually knows what he is saying.
  14. Me, going to my sister's place for dinner and letting her worry about it!
  15. Think I'm with you on this one SP. Babel looks a good player, but not sure he's world class. I like Agger though.
  16. We're hoping to get to see him, rewatched I Claudius from start to finish recently, think he's great! As for what makes a good book, writing is an art form, and like any art form, beauty is in the eye / ear of the beholder. For me, a book is special if it makes me smile, makes me shed a tear, or makes me really think about the world. I don't personally care about the grammar or word play, what works for me won't work for others though. For people to dismiss any book is like the string quartet "Bond" being shunned by the classical Brits a few years ago for being a "pop act", simply because of snobbery, and the fact that they would have blown everyone else out of the water! Note, I am not a Bond fan, but they were talented musicians.
  17. Nice of Everton and John Terry to throw us a bone last night!
  18. After the talk of slash in the quiz thread, I found this clip of 2 of my guitar hereos basically showing off! Slash & Zakk Wylde I also found this mightily impressive Zakk Wylde solo
  19. Slash was born in London, but spent his early years in Stoke, then moved to LA when he was 11. His mum was a costume designer to lots of stars, and met Bowie through that, and had a bit of an affair.
  20. Who, david bowie? Regarding Slash, I'm not sure he actually baby sat, but he was definitely bonking his mum!
  21. The original singer of which band died of accute alcohol poisening in a car outside of 67 Overhill Road East Dulwich? AC/DC (The singer was Bon Scott)
  22. Okay smartypants, who was She-ra's nemesis? Hordak. I can't think of any other female heroes that dress as you describe, other than Wonder Woman. And to be fair, She-ra would have been a lot warmer in a snow storm than her brother! http://www.joevautour.com/images/HeManSheRa.jpg
  23. What is most commonly believed to have been the last song played by the band on the titanic before it went down? The tune that by far the most survivors reported was the last was "Nearer My God to Thee". (although no band members survived to confirm this). It's a good question though I think.
  24. I was a great Nija Turtle, and the wise cracking Michelangelo was my favourite :-$ I was also a good He-Man when I was about 5/6, which reminds me of another question. What was the name of He-Man's sister who had a spin off series? She-Ra (Princess of power)
