Normally I'd be right behind Spurs, but I can't bring myself to wish Defoe a good debut... Spurs win, but red card for him will do nicely ;-)

Charging for tap water is bloody wrong, rights or no rights!

Maybe after the draw at Anfield he gave them too much respect. Anyway, what's done is done, I just wish we could help ourselves a bit, because we can't keep relying on everyone to slip up when we do!

The Dream Machine - RIP - ??? - 24hrs to Meltdown
Keef replied to TheDreamMachine's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I popped in to the shop and became a dreamer on Friday, hope it is going well! I said to Bertie when I was there that I'm happy to bring my guitar down and jam with people in an inpromptu gig one night if that would help. -
They're usually on the first Friday of each month (this one was an exception as the 2nd was a bit soon after New Years). Watch this space, and a new thread will go up saying where the next one will be.

I'm not sure that's a discrimination, that's just plain mental! That is a great example, but to be fair, some church in New Mexico seems a bit like scraping the barrel. I don't think christians in this country have any great advantage over anyone else, unless you're that bothered about "thought of the day", which to be honest, is usually a load of shite anyway. For the record I'm probably best described as Agnostic, or a failed christian. I just don't like the whole "oh poor us" thing. RE: Dawkins, I like him these days. I once disliked him because I found him (in one particular programme) really patronising to some people. However, more recently I find him quite kind and non judgmental to people, so long as they're not mentalists. If a christian is forcing it down your throat and telling you you're going to burn in hell, then by all means argue with them. However, it makes me so angry when a christian who is quietly going about their life has to suffer patronising comment from atheists.

I think we were shite yesterday, the commentator on Setanta pointed out that after Torres had been on the pitch a good 20 minutes, he'd only touched the ball 7 times, he just got no service, and Gerrard couldn't get forward enough. As they said, we need other players to take hold of a game if Gerrard isn't having his best day, we can't always rely on "captain fantastic"! That said, I thought Stoke did very well at getting straight on to us, and not letting us play at all. Was hoping for a draw today, but if anything, I am leaning towards a Chelsea win... If Man U win their 3 games in hand, they are top!

Lovely Ladies:A Question re: Your Future Husbands "ex"
Keef replied to Tony.London Suburbs's topic in The Lounge
Og God, that may as well read "You are Mr boring" :-$ -
Frankly I don't think there is, I am with Bizzy on this one, believe or not, don't start crying victim. Oh, and my Mrs (Jewish/Atheist) has taught in several faith schools, she told them her beliefs, and they said fine, religion doesn't have to come in to maths/english/science (although in this case there are some dodgy faith academies teaching creationism which is just wrong).

Quids, and bignumber5 says, he is likely the talk bloke. I'm the very average height hairy bloke :-S

I think you are being your daughter Ms TillieTrotter! ;-)

I just assumed it was referring to East Dulwich, and that AFN is a sucker for the architechture of the library.

Always the way matthew, I think it's best just to chat to a few people, and hopefully meet more at the next one. If you try and get round to meet everyone, you'll have no chance, and won't actually get the time to talk to anyone properly. It's why people never really enjoy their own parties, cos they're so busy trying to make sure everyone is okay. Nice to meet you by the way.

Like him, more of a "fighter" to Calzaghe's "pugilist".
-
How can I have forgotten to mention Gen17. Lovely to have met you, and wht a small world!
-
Only just seen that Haye won't be fighting Vitalki. Apparently a fight with little brother may be on though... Never saw Holyfield's fight (didn't want to), but interestingly, the WBA are reviewing the result. I hope the don't reverse it and give Holyfield the belt, it might make him consider defending it.

Er, is that from experience young lady?

Really enjoyed last night, bar very busy at first, but thankfully got easier to get served as the night wore on. Nice to meet indiepanda, and finally work out which one is Strawbs and which is Jaws (happy birthday by the way). Was gutted to have missed ????, but nice to see all the usual crowd, and had a good giggle with the lovely Tillie and Anna. Moos, it was very nice to see you, and I hope your raher nasty sounding cough has gone away. I'm sure my slapping of your back will have sorted it! :)-D

I don't think he really gets thought about either way to be honest.

I do like the bit about letting Fergie write the fixture list ;-)

I never siad I didn't want to play, I just couldn't think of lots off the top of my head. I've never heard of a couple of those, and was sure places like Mrs Robinson boutique had been there longer, and Hoopers is in Peckham, but that has been discussed. Can't believe I didn't think of Dream Machine though. Can you clarify if The Plough will count? Completely redecorated, and new owners, feels as much like a "new" pub as the mag does... That said, if it was included I'd be torn between the two.
