  1. Yeah but what if the victim is a Christian and has put his trust in God to help him through his life? And what about Noah being 950 years old????? I am normally strongly in the Christians corner on this forum, sticking up for people's right to believe, but stuff like what you have just written almost make me want to join the Sean, Mark, Snorky brigade!
  2. No wait, he's some tosser who sings in a band and nothing more... My mistake.
  3. Angels do exist, they live in Harlem. I know this because Bono said so, and he wouldn't lie to anyone because he is actually Christ.
  4. Especially if they're wearing shorts and have south african accents!
  5. Sue I was just messing because it's an age old row on here. Personally I couldn't give a toss what area it's actually in, it's a nice pub. If asked however, I'd reply Camberwell/Peckham borders.
  6. Ha ha, spot on Tony. I tried watching a bit a couple of years back, as I wanted to see the Stones doing the half time show. It was a couple of minutes to half time according to the clock, and it took about an hour!!!
  7. I didn't have a drink yesterday! Can't remember the last time I could say that... :-$ Don't feel that different, but that's probably because Mrs Keef couldn't sleep, which basically meant I couldn't sleep!
  8. Sorry charliecharlie, misunderstood. In my opinion then, I'd say no. I think there are people on here who like to have a laugh and a joke, sometimes inappropriately, but I wouldn't say in a mean way. I think on here people made a couple of light comments at the beggining, and the OP seemed to go along with the joke, and it was all in good spirits. Then others came on and got a bit offended and high horses were gotten on. I don't know everyone on here by any stretch, and I have never met *bob*, but I find him funny. On this thread however, I don't think he was trying to be funny as such, I think he was just trying to stop a tide of hysteria from people that had read the original post, which should have been taken as a warning to be vigilant, and taken it to mean there was a dangerous loon on the streets and lives were at risk. That's the way I see it anyway.
  9. I don't know, show me where I have been "mean" in my 2 posts on this thread and I'll put my hands up and admit it. Christ, I am a total b@stard!
  10. So they're high end then.
  11. Well done Orla for coming on here, and sorry to hear that you felt so frightened, and hearing your description it's not surprising. I do think however that this thread has gone a bit OTT, some people were making a bit of light out of it but not with any malice, whilst others were just trying to stop a general panic, which I know isn't what you or the OP were trying to instill in people, but it doesn't take long for a description of a weird and frightening incident can get turned in to attempted rape or murder by some. Anyway, whatever his intention, glad your sister turned up and you're okay.
  12. Mrs Keef has lots of family in Israel, including elderly relatives who used to live happily alongside everybody, and they all spoke Arabic fluently. However, that was a long time ago, much as it's a lovely utopian ideal, I don't think that a single state will happen until the day Sean announces that he's a born again Christian and invites us all to his baptism!
  13. Also sorry to hear about your dad Atila, sounds like Arsenal get passed down the generations of your family!
  14. Oh, in that case, yes that's rather sexist.
  15. I've only just seen this, and while I'm sure the incident was horrid, I am with *bob*, don't think he was being flippant, more just realistic about things.
  16. Except it's not in ED. SO so true!
  17. Where do you feel is the boundary of East Dulwich? From Hornimans down to the Goose Green Roundabout. I have never really thought of anywhere pass that as ED, even if the station is there. Has gentrification been a good thing or a bad thing? Has anything been lost with the changes or is the area returning to the glory days before Sainsbury's? Good things have happened to the area in lots of ways, but I miss the ED that I grew up in, the differences are sometimes subtle, sometimes absolutely blatant. There are some businesses on Lordship Lane that I think are so horridly pretentious it's untrue! Is it a nice place to live, if so why is it better than surrounding areas? It was a great place to grow up, and these days it's probably a bit more twee, quiet and safe feeling than some surrounding areas. However, for far nicer housing stock / space, you're much better off moving slightly out, where you can still access the good bits of ED, but have a better living space. What makes East Dulwich stand out from other areas? I'm not sure it does to be quite honest. I guess word has got out that there are places to go on a Friday & Saturday night, so that brings people in from outside. Is there a strong sense of community and neighborhood in the area? Sure lots of people will say yes (and I'm not disagreeing as such), but frankly this is the thing I really miss about the ED of old. It used to be different, but nicer in my opinion. More than other areas? Doubt it Why? Again, I doubt it, but then again, this very forum is responsible for lots of people meeting in various forms. Does East Dulwich have a local Identity? Not quite sure what this means. How would you describe the place? Nice place, would prefer it somewhere between what it is now, and what it was in 80s & 90s.
  18. Possibly a bit sexist, but to be fair, if you counted the customers of these shops over an average week, I'm pretty sure women would be a huge majority, so maybe it's just a cheeky way of making a valid point. I've said this before on here, but some years ago a friend who owns one of these shops described HER business to me as "selling a load of frilly cushions to housewives with far too much time and money", so if they feel that way, we can't really blame honk.
  19. I don't mind Weatherspoons, and think a lot of the issues people have with them are pure snobbery (although this will of course be denied). At the end of the day, it's McDonald's for beer drinkers, no one goes there for a full on night out, but a couple of cheap liveners at really really cheap prices is great! I see nothing better in an O'Neil's, Allbarone, slug & lettuice, and so on...
  20. Hurrah!!!!! Back just in time for a new football thread. Atila, Matthew... It's all going to go mental!!! >:D< Welcome back by the way.
  21. Don't think I saw any of series 8, but as you say, it would be wrong not to watch the final fling.
  22. Allfornun, I am interested, what with this and the other thread, you obviously feel really strongly about this whole situation. Why? (Just curious) Once again, "what Jeremy said".
  23. Batmobile (TV series version) http://www.barris.com/gallery_cars/TV_MovieCars/images/gallery/batmobile.jpg Because I've never driven and never will.
  24. ... I'm all alone, more or less, Let me fly, far away from here, Fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun. Red Dwarf - Back to Earth!!! Not sure it's a good idea or not, but there will be a new episode of Red Dwarf, where they finally make it home to Earth... I want to believe it will be funny, but as the last couple of series at least, were rubbish, I won't hold my breath. Anyway, just for memories...
  25. Was it that they were the "home" team in a cup semi final or something? Arsenal? (guess)
