  1. Pretty fair summary Matthew. We are still well in it, but we are stalling, and need to pick up quick and hope Man U drop some points somewhere... I would genuinely be proud of second if we make it a fight to the finish (obviously I'd prefer first), I just hope we don't fade like a Primark T-Shirt! On a more ammusing note, Man City's executive chairman suggesting that Milan "bottled it" over the Kaka transfer... Not of course that the player looked at it and thought, "actually I earn quite a bit where I am, and I'd like to win some medals". And a day later, has Robinho done a runner? Lets hope so >:D<
  2. Glad I didn't bother going to the pub last night!
  3. And he's got silly ears!

  6. Really must sort it out and get my Wii online. You can download some old school NES games too, and I want Super Mario 2, classic! (the one where you could be Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Toad, and Peach could hover, making her easiy the best character). Had the Wii round at my sister's place on Saturday night for a little game night (I kick ass at Articulate by the way), just with Wii Sports and Mario Kart, think I sold a couple of Wiis for Nintendo!
  7. I'll go along with "Motivation levels", but other than that I'm happy enough... Will see if Liverpool want to keep it that way this evening!
  8. Not really. Drivers who don't stop at pedestrian crossing when there's someone waiting Inconsiderate rude gits. Pedestrians who start to cross expecting cars to stop regardless of distance Just a bit stupid. (assuming they're walking out when the car is more or less on top of them). Basically I'm with you strawbs! Oh, and agree with Tony that it is polite to give a wave to the car that stops for you. I also tend to scream "Wan*er" and give the finger to the ones that don't.
  9. Khan to fight Barrera in Manchester 14th March. Seems a huge gamble, but I'm glad he'sstepping up, so he can either live up to his hype, or get knocked out and stop bothering us (I'm not a huge fan, he's turned in to a cocky little git, and has done little to back it up). Barrera is 35, but took Manny Pacquiao the distance, and doesn't seem finished even if he's not as fast or powerful as he once was.
  10. I think it was Chaz, but could be wrong, he was the funnier of the 2 though! It was a great programme, and he came across as a jolly nice fella.
  11. New forest is lovely for walking / cycling, and drinking beer!
  12. Info here, suggests it was actually 2004, assuming it was the same flood we're thinking of. This video suggests 2003, but I'm sure it was later than that.
  13. I believe there were some photos on here (they weren't mine), and I think it must have been 2006, possibly 2005. It was just very very heavy rain, I remember the stupid 12 bus didn't stop at my stop on Barry Road (the Underhill stop), so I had to get off at Goodrich, and walking down Crystal Palace Road was surreal because the water really was flowing down the road. Not biblical snorky, but I've not seen the like in London before. In fact CrystalClear, I seem to remember the reason I got soaked through to the skin was that you werre off work "ill", and I was bringing you provisions (cigarettes and coca-cola)! No that was 2003, I know this because I remember coming home from a party in Oxford to find no water, and everyone queuing on the streets with buckets.
  14. What ???? said. How many people vote because they really believe in a particular party, and how many of us actually vote just to keep a particular party out, in a kind of "best of a really shite bunch" kind of way?
  15. Would love to, but can't get any time off work at the moment. Thanks though.
  16. Can't believe after 90 minutes of football Liverpool were looking sorted, and by the final whistles we are behind Man U and only a point in front of Chelsea. Funny old game and all that. Just hope Liverpool keep up the pace and make a good 3 way competition of it. As LadyG pointed out, last February Arsenal looked like they couldn't not win the league...
  17. If Rafa wanted to go back to Spain I'd wave goodbye, biggest worry would be him taking Torres and others with him. I think he is quite commited to the pool though, and don't blame him for wanting control of football matters.
  18. I know, sorry, but hopefully I'll be wrong. I was at one of these, almost exaclt 10 years ago, Wednesday 14th Jan 1999. Lost 0-1, and 3 players sent off (Jeffers & Westerweld in the same incident, and Gerrard very late on if memory serves). Bit naff, but good atmosphere!
  19. Blackburn 1 Newcastle 2 Bolton 1 Man Utd 2 Chelsea 1 Stoke 1 Hull 1 Arsenal 3 Man City 2 Wigan 2 Sunderland 1 Aston Villa 3 West Brom 0 Middlesbrough 2 Tottenham 1 Portsmouth 3 West Ham 2 Fulham 2 Liverpool 2 Everton 2
  20. The police are well paid in my opinion, and get very good pension schemes. Don't agree so much about teachers and some social care professionals though. I'm not saying nurses don't deserve anymore money, but I don't like this whole "our job is harder than their job" nonsense. Basically they are not comparable. Lots of public sector jobs deserve to be higher paid. Shame nurses don't have unions as arsey as doctors, then they'd be sorted. What NVQs do they have? A lot of people scoff at NVQs, but actually the higher levels (4 & 5) are actually quite high qualifications.
  21. How about a thread called "The beast within". Recently I admitted on a thread that whilst I am not a violent person, and don't get in to fights, there is a part of me deep down that would have laughed had I seen a particular incident where someone got a slap for being (in my opinion) I bit of a tit. Would be interested in hearing other people admit to things that don't really fit in with their nice, polite, friendly, reasonable persona
  22. This is really nugging me, have been trying to do searches, but can't come up with anything!

Can just imagine this in some old sketch show like Benny Hill or something.
  24. Not when they're shagging all night you wouldn't! Cute but noisy.
