No, but that wasn't my point at all. I was talking about the bureaucratic side of things. That said, plenty of service users die on people!
  2. Fight fight fight!
  3. So why would the mag not be gastro then? Has it's own chef, changes the menu, not a pubco menu... I'm struggling with this definition. Don't bother answering, I'm just bored, and don't really care either way.
  4. Mouth of the tees, Robbo has it all pretty spot on from where I'm standing.
  5. Went last weekend for the first time in ages, still not really my bag at all, but a good mojito.
  6. Replace "patients" with "pupils" or "service users", and you've just described pretty much any public service job.
  7. Like your style MM, I have quite a list of future contenders too!
  8. May get beasted for this, but ?24k for newly qualified doesn't seem that bad. :-S
  9. I honestly wouldn't know, maybe they do, and if they do, I'm sure a lot of teams do. I used to play a lot of rugby, and we were taught lots of dirty tricks to use in scrummages that the ref couldn't see, so it wouldn't surprise me. The fact is though, Man U and Chelsea have been the top 2 teams in recent years, so it's not surprising that you notice it and point fingers. I hate to say it, but part of it is jealousy, and should Liverpool manage to win a couple of titles (God, just one would be nice), I am sure a lot more attention will be paid to our players, and fingers pointed their way. If West Ham, Spurs, Blackburn, or whoever were the top team, we'd all be saying the same about their players. Everyone does these things, and everyone wants to be top, so it's those teams at the top that are under the spotlight more than most. You point out a couple of examples, and you may well be right, but 2 examples of planned moves doesn't really say that much to me.
  10. Unfortunately you're probably spot on, another nail in the Rye Lane coffin.
  11. Used to love the big garden before the first refurb some8010 years ago (I think). Used to enjoy going there for a pint with my dad, but haven't been in for a good 5 years at least!
  12. Ha ha, funnily enough I said something similar to Anna at the drinks last Friday. To be honest, I think all this anti United stuff just makes other supporters look stupid, and it should stop. I agree Ronaldo is a bit of a tit, despite being an awesome player. However, I think all the teams are pretty much as bad as each other, and I would rather just have a good race for the title between 2 or 3 good teams without all the finger pointing bo!!ocks. It's playground nonsense! Note, not just pointing the finger at you there Matthew, but things like are just rubbish. Liverpool's own Michael Owen admitted openly after winning a penalty for England against Argentina that whilst he wouldn't "dive", he would make the most aof a tackle if he thought he'd gain advantage for his team. It's a bit naff, but it's part of the game, and Stevie Gerrard, who I love as a player, has won more than one penalty by going down very easily! Just ask Shef United about their first ever premiership match!
  13. I was wondering that too, I kept meeting Sarah at the bar.
  14. Forget those, look no further than The worst witch, I remember reading these as a kid, and thought of them straight away when I read Harry Potter. That said, I still like HP :-$
  15. At the end of the day, we are all cogs working for the machine, even those who claim to rage against it. Just stop worrying about it and have a drink! :)-D
  16. You should get lots of ideas HERE. And HERE. Although I thin tastes vary dramatically.
  17. Out of interest, can someone give us an idea what a nurse does get paid (obviously this will vary). People, me included, are always going on about poorly paid nurses, but I have just realised I don't actually know what they get paid.
  18. Okay, lets start keeping some sort of count of decisions refs have gotten wrong involving Man U... I am a Liverpool fan, but I am getting fed up with moaning about Man U... We have had plenty of soft free kicks and penalties awarded to us in recent years, even this season, at the end of the day, EVERY team gets decisions for and against them, I reckon it all pretty much evens out. In times gone by, Man U players were disgraceful (Kean et al getting in the ref's face), but to be honest, I don't think you see anymore of it from United than anyone else these days. (although Ronaldo's sarky clapping thing has to stop!).
  19. I don't think any Prem manager is going to roll over for anyone (unless it's the end of the season and there is nothing to play for. Ha ha ha ha ha Shef U). Surely one of Fergie's ex players would love to get one over on their old gaffer wouldn't they? Once I was the student, now I am master! >:D< Whilst I can see Matthew's point about making the refs look a bit harder at United, I think this whole thing has actually made Rafa look a bit silly. He got no support in the press (except for maybe a couple of through and through reds), he then goes and loses. After the match he should have refused to talk about it, and just talked about the match, but instead talks about "Mr Ferguson" again (is that also a dig saying Mr instead of Sir?). Fergie's team then trash Chelsea, and he gets to take the "moral high ground" by saying just a couple of lines (which he knew would get headlines - DISTURBED!), before saying he'd rather just talk about the match. Rafa 0 - 1 Fergie That's my view of it anyway. Stop farting around, forget everyone else, and just concentrate on the games in front of you. Everyone knows Fergi likes a mind game, so just don't listen to him, or just send him a private death threat! ;-)
  20. Was watching a thing about Alan Sugar on BBC last night, was quite interesting hearing him talk about his silly 10 years at Spurs, and what he thinks of a lot of footballers!
  21. I love The Durrell Family, really nice guys, and lots of fun!
  22. Does this mean I can have my fiver back? ;-) Seriously, bravo to Chener Books, very very kind of them!
  23. I think Rooney was a bit of a tit, but have seen plenty of players screaming at refs and getting away with it, don't think it's just because he plays for United. Makes no odds really, Man U properly beat Chelsea yesterday, and I am feeling nervous.
  24. You can get hold of both the book and the DVD via Amazon.
  25. Seen players get a yellow for that sort of behaviour, but plenty get away with it.
