  1. Good work Simon & Piers for talking about football. I think England will have a difficult game on Saturday because they'll think they're world beaters again after the last 2 games. Expect them to win it, but not by a huge margin. The Russia game should be good, and expect England to play better as they tend to do in bigger games. Hope he sticks with Barry, Lampard does not deserve to walk back in to the side!!!

I didn't jump to Jah Lush's defence because you said anything bad about spurs, I spoke up because I think you're being agressive... There are loads of footy forums all over the place for people to mouth off and say how great their team is, and how sh!t everyone else is. This is a local forum, and judging by your name and the posts you written so far, you seem to have signed up just for this football thread. It's not meant to be like that, we predict scores, and have some friendly banter. No one has said Arsenal are not a good team, we all admit they are good, theyn play nice footbal, and the table doesn't lie, so stop with the victim thing. It's funny, with the exception of Man U, no one hates teams because of the players or manager, it's the agressive and/or smug fans that will do it.
  3. Depends on the person and their priorities I guess. I'm getting wed shortly (cheapo version for the record), and we're doing it... well I don't really know why, we just wanted to. Call me old fashioned, but I do like the idea of being married when we have kids... Not that I think it makes any difference to the kid, but there you go.
  4. Did you watch a Carry On Film last night Bob?
  5. Get out more, great, I'll join you for a beer anytime... Work harder..... err..... *shifts in seat*
  6. Would rather have grey hairs than no hairs, which is the curse that seems to be attacking me!!! Still, as Jah says, it's about how you feel, and the fun you're having :)-D As long as I have my Les Paul I'll still be a teenaged Guns N' Roses fan!
  7. ... Do think they're talented though, I'll give them that. But so were Pink Floyd, and they also wrote a load of w@nk (in amongst some of the greatest tunes ever - "Wish you were here" being top of my list).
  8. Creep and High and Dry are the only songs I would say I thought were really good. I tried and tried years ago to get in to the albums, because so many people were telling me they were so special man, and the best thing ever written... I thought they were sh!t!.
  9. Er, I was at the bar the second half at the door end with a Tall Australian girl friend. You weren't the bloke next to me were you that I saw outside having a smoke? Please tell me you wern't the pink topped rugger bugger with the blonde locks?????

  11. No they have a new screen to the left. The old one was above the door (Roundabout end), there is now a pretty big screen literally above the bar. I noticed it the other week when Man U were on the Big crap screen, and Arsenal were on the other side. Have been surprised how "quiet" the CPT has been for the rugby. It wasn't dead last match, it actually had a nice number of people, but in the past I have known it to be absolutely crammed for England rugby matches!
  12. Well summed up AP thanks. Mr Chair, and Mr City Lawer house prices, are the sort of people that would make me support an application to have my own arm cut off (assuming of course they were against it), just to spite the silly tw@ts! Other than that, sounds like a decent meeting.
  13. I haven't had any bangers thrown at me whilst walking the streets of Woolwich as yet, which is unusual.
  14. Who is head these days? Just wondering if it's one of my old teachers.
  15. Started in the Black Cherry actually, so nuuh!
  16. I have noticed this year that I have started getting nasty hangovers.
  17. atila the gooner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > and as for "Keef" (probably nicked from The one and Only Keef Richards), Actually no, but I am glad to hear you've got some taste in music if not football. what the hell are you on about. Are you on some kind of recreational drug??? Not when I wrote that. Who wants to win any European trophy other than the Champions League?? Presumably you refer to Spuds success in some bygone age in a now defunct tournament. You're quite right, the Champions League is the only cup worth winning these days... Remind me again how Arsenal have got on? I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure Spurs won a european cup in 1984,beating Anderlecht in the final. Now I bow to Arsenal's superior record in the league, but there is really no reason to come on here all guns blazing, writing 3 posts in a row spouting absolute bo!!ocks to everyone. I don't know if a Spurs fan killed you parents or something, but you seem to have some serious deep rooted feelings here. It's f**king football, it's a game, and it's fun to wind each other up about, but play nice.
  18. Alan Dale Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That's 9 out of 1,100 isn't it? > > What's that as a percentage? Hmm fair enough, but add up the combined posts (in fact, just mine and Piers' will do), and you'll have a much higher percentage of he total posts. How many of those 1,100 have posted on here? PS. DM, I just smoke homegrown... Silver Rizla anyone?
  19. Richard Thomas responded to me about lighting on Whateley Road saying they'd be sorted this financial year..... Still not done, but doubt he can do much about that. Shall wait til April...
  20. I'm 50-50 at the mo. Do fancy it, but can't really afford it...
  21. Best of luck CWALD, hope you get it!
  22. God that was really difficult to read... Think he'd done a crawl of all the pubs he's reviewed (with his dog) before typing that.
