  1. I agree with the Pizza Express, so what if it's not as authentic as some would like, it's decent quality, it's not too pricey, and it's very child friendly, which has to be a winner in ED!
  2. Alan, you forgot T K Maxx! Now that's your good stuff right there!
  3. I have to say that the one time I ate there (about 3 years ago), the food was very very nice. The service was sh!t though, I remember them forgetting my meal, and not offering any apology, it was like I was rude for expecting my meal to come out with my party's.
  4. Ditto Greenwich to be frank.
  5. This is the closest I could find, but I think it's some dodgy looking bloke doing a cover.

So, a doctor talking about his patients in the pub is bad practice, but I practise my guitar? :-S
  7. SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Someone is BOUND to mention Hallelujah by Buckley > but I prefer John Cale's take meself Weirdo!!!! That said, I found a live recording of Jeff Buckley doing it, and found it painful. He had a good voice, but not so sure he was good live... He could play the guitar though! I think it sums it up for me that the only tune I actually listen to on "Grace" is in fact Hallelujah, and that's a cover... Just don't much like the Cale version, it's too happy somehow.
  8. I'll do everything I can to avoid it, and walk away, but if some teenager decides to get violent with me, I'll smack him, and bo!!ocks to legal position. Besides, a lot of the 15-16 year olds I see these days are taller than me, and twice as wide!
  9. Oh Anna, bless your cottons! :))
  10. Didn't want the music room to get too depressing, so thought I'd start this in a new thread. Don't have to literally make you cry, but songs you find really moving. Already mentioned Nine Inch Nails - Hurt Others include Counting Crows - Colorblind (Have no sound at work so I hope this is the right song with this weird vid). Julie Cruise - Questions in a world of blue This is a scene from Twin Peaks "Fire Walk With Me. Please excuse the rednecks trying to score with Laura Palmer during the sax solo... Bloody inconsiderate!

"Necessary" is an all time bad one for me. And before training for my job, which involves teaching "Independent" living skills, I'd always chuck an A in to independent somewhere. Bear/Bare is a git, I was writing something the other day, and had to reword it because I couldn't work out which one to go with!
  12. I love the way this started as a really serious thread about a really serious topic, and just went off the rails so quickly!
  13. Nout soft about that, they are some of the most heart felt lyrics I can think of! *whispers* between you and me, I was close to letting a tear go at Reading (it really was a moving performance), but my friends would've beat me up, so gave Mrs Keef a big hug instead (thus hiding my face from the lads).
  14. Alan, the vast majority of degree courses are little more than hobby to be fair. People then justify them by teaching their hobby.
  15. Oh did you miss Atila's arrival? It's okay, if and Jah are best of friends now ;-)
  16. Don't be starting on music A Level, it involves more coursework than most, plus 4 bloody exams! Grrr
  17. If it is the Sydenham one, it's very good!
  18. Gurkha's Tiffin? Is that Gurkha's on Sydenham High Street, or have I missed something?
  19. It was the Reading one from this year. Just piano til the very end. It really is a moving song. He actually describes it as "not my song anymore", since Johnny Cash covered it.

Me on the > other hand, I'll be devastated :)-D Fair enough, different folks and all that. I've just never felt comfy in there, don't know why really, just don't like it. That said, I like the CPT, which most people think is scruffy so there you go.
  21. Sorry to be picky, but you can rip the window out of the envelope and recycle the rest.
  22. Nine inch nails are a band that have been around ages, and I've never really listened to them much. Then I went to Reading this year and was blown away by their set! This song was the last, and it sent shivers down my spine, it's one of the most powerful live performances I've ever seen, and it's beautiful. Some people may know of it as a Johnny Cash song, but he actually covered NIN. Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
  23. Er, can I have a bag please, even though I live in Sydenham...
  24. Ah The Beards, bless their cottons, they are proper professional quiz players.
