  1. It was because of that video that his version was so well known, it won all sorts of prizes. It really was a goodbye. Here it is.
  2. Jah I'm glad you liked "A Short History of Tractors in the Ukraine"! I was sat reading that at the MCG in Melbourne during the Ashes last year whilst England wre being soundly beaten in the 3rd day of the test to take Australia to 4-0 in the series. The book at least made me smile! I've been very slow with reading lately, need to find something to inspire me.
  3. Speaking of Johnny Cash, I listened a few times to his version of Hurt this weekend. It is good, but not a patch on the Live piano only version that Nine Inch Nails did at Reading.
  4. *Rugby tackles Jah out the way, grabs bottle, runs for the hills*
  5. Well for Martin I shall have my fingers crossed. Must admit I can't stand Robbie Keane. Really good player, but annoying little git too! Aaaanyway, lets hope it's a good Euro week all round, we definitely need a win against a team I'm not too familiar with!
  6. Huguenot might, ask him. I for one couldn't stand the humidity. Oh, and Singapore Slings are wrong in many many ways!
  7. Argentina to be fair.
  8. I know, but fun all the same, it's one of life's biggest cruelties!
  9. We had no footy team at my school. We had inter-house football, but didn't play other schools. It was a former grammar school (Aske's) with a big rugby tradition (and cricket in summer, but I never really got in to that). We had some great athletes who ran for England, and they were usually the wingers on the rugby pitch. These days I am admittedly unfit and wouldn't mind loosing a stone, but believe it or not, back then and all the time I played rugby I was actually rather fit... I also played in the 1st XV for 3 years so there! Alas I gave up playing when I was in a team in Liverpool who basically turned up in the hopw of a fight. For the record, I am sh!t at footy, because I never liked it when I was in primary school. I had no interest in the game at all til I was in my teens.
  10. Can I have the booze you would have had?
  11. Alan, I played rugby at a state school, and we played against plenty of other state schools. Reason the private schools would always be miles ahead was that they had better facilities, offered scholarships to boys with promise from 14+, and gave them a lot more training/coaching. Can't see that changing.
  12. Never been a big U2 fan, but "Sometimes you can't make it on your own" which Bono wrote for his dad, is a very moving song with a very heartfely vocal. I used to know someone who would always cry to With or without you, but she was a tw@t.
  13. Interesting stuff, cheers for that. These days they just call any old stew scouse though.
  14. I like the Bellenden area, it's always been one of the nicer bits of Peckham, and these days it's really nice. Plus you have Ganapati which is the best Indian restaurant you'll find! As for the guy getting shot in the shop on Avondale, that's awful, but George who used to run the Post Office on Pellatt Road (middle of East Dulwich) got shot a couple of years ago about a week before he was due to retire. It can happen anywhere!
  15. I have to say, I can understand the point about there being nothing for the kids to do, and can possibly understand why it may lead them to shop lift, or do a bit of criminal damage. However, I can't understand why it would lead them to display nasty / violent behaviour. Bored or not, that's just thuggish!
  16. Have you thought about volunteering for the Citizens Advice Bureau, that would be great experience. I work in Woolwich, and the CAB there deals mostly with asylem seekers. Here's a link I noticed this which might be of interest for you. "Attention all law students If you train as a CAB adviser, you can get up to six months off your solicitor training contracts!" Best of luck!
  17. Didn't see much footy this weekend, after the Liverpool game I just got lost in a drunk haze waiting for the rugby. Remember hazy images of the Man U game, including a good Villa goal, and a penalty save from the sub keeper, but shame about the final score. Have to hold my hands up and agree about Liverpool Everton. We were not great, and you could argue our first penalty was slightly dodgy. Everton should definitely definitely have had a penalty at the end, but they didn't, and I'm pleased about it! >:D< About time we got a bit of luck on ou side!
  18. I'm confused, who is Le Sulk?
  19. Wouldn't you all still get along great if there were a couple of chain shops around?
  20. Until they come across a gang fight and get the sh!t kicked out of them because they have no back up?
  21. Wouldn't BARA advertise it as something completely different though? I don't want to walk in to a dinner jacket party in fancy dress.
  22. TJMP Wrote: ------------------------------------------------ So Keef, an early intervention that had the > desired effect. For which the MP will of course expect the eternal gratitude of the masses.
  23. Cool, FHT soundling likely. CPT excellent choice for xmas! :)-D
  24. And a fine song it is too :)) Don't think you've anything to worry about with Bolton, they're in a mess... I do hope I'm wrong of course.
  25. Wow, isn't she a hero! "Thanks to MY early intervention"... Self satisfied Moi? So can someone clear this up. There is definitely going to be NO SYRINGE EXCHANGE, but there is still an applicaiton for a late pharmacy? What do people think then? I think it's great, and bugger the people that don't want some competition.
