  1. Why in God's name should a professional have to do it!?!? As far as I know, Southwark don't employ Dog Mess Cleaners, and if I were a street cleaner, I'd feel that clearing up everyone's pet's mess was a touch above and beyond the call of duty! Owners of the dogs should clean up, plain and simple! If they don't, they're gits, and I guess the poor street cleaners will be left to do it, but anyone who doesn't pick up after their animal, thinking that it's someone else's responsibility is an irresponsible, inconsiderate arsehole! :X Here endeth my Monday morning rant.
  2. Sorry I never made it, I admit I started a bit early thanks to England's pathetic performance in the rugby, then bumped in to some friends unexpectedly, and before I knew it last orders was being called! Glad you had fun, and will double efforts next time... DM, your hunch about Mr Crystal may well be right ;-)
  3. Simon I was hugely entertained and grateful for your lou giving Liverpool 2 penalties in about 7 minutes yesterday! ;-)
  4. Approx 90 - 92..... Could be wrong, but I think I was in my early teens. The whole gastro thing hadn't really taken off back then.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's the first thing she said in this thread.
  6. Good thing, as he uses it as a smoking jacket in the pub ;-)
  7. Shirly Crabtree AKA Big Daddy. May he rest in peace.
  8. Well they definitely don't use jags! ;-)

  10. Well what else do you want big boy? Sorry, I was just messing :)-D
  11. Why must you insist on using that photo!!!!!! I much prefer thisone... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/92/247486713_0454596acc.jpg?v=0 Or even... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/161/398755515_d6dc9eed8d.jpg?v=0 ;-)
  12. I saw him at a festival in Bristol a couple of years back, because his back up band were basically the guys from Portishead (Bristol lads), and he kept on saying "Bristol" to the crowd to get the easy cheer... I think he actually told us his nan was from there, so that was good enough for them, he's claimed as their own! :-S For the record, his new stuff is rubbish, but when the riff to Whole lotta love started, the crowd went wild! >:D<
  13. "Road Rules"...... Er, you mean The Highway Code??? Also, telling someone they're "to stupid", as opposed to "too stupid" carries with it a certain irony :-S Not trying to start a row, but it happened ages ago, get over it, you're obviously still alive and well. For the record, I don't use Panther Cars either, but only because I find them expensive.
  14. By the way, The Hob is the one opposite the train station, as the pavement climbs around the corner.
  15. The comedy is now at The Hob in Forest Hill. The pub itself was taken over by Ron & Emma who run the EDComedy. I've not actually been in there yet, but Ron tells me they have live music as well, and it's quite lively. It's not exactly the far away, so nip up the hill and support it.
  16. The bookcase wallpaper above the bar in the old Magdalla was fantastic!!!! :-S You're right Crystal, When I came back to Dulwich, I'd lost touch with a lot of old friends, and more than half of the people I consider good friends now, are people that I've met in the area.... Well the CPT to be honest! You sir being amongst them :)-D
  17. Yes we know, is that why you won't get lost? ;-) Beer tonight?
  18. Bless Piers and his grown up words ;-)
  19. Get off the fence James, anyone would think you didn't like them!
  20. Yep sorted. Thanks a lot, I feel a bit thick now :-$
  21. Can anyone explain why the Home page keeps telling me there is 1 new thread and 1 new comment in this section of the forum, but I can't find it anywhere... Has anyone else noticed this?
  22. A true martyr he is, and nobody can deny ::o
  23. I didn't like Sydney that much, Melbourne much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm from ED too, and I know what you're saying, I came back from 5 years up North in 2001, and was shocked at the changes then (EDT serving young people being the main one), but I imagine it's quite a shock after 12 years!!! I would like to say that the posts above are very quick to attack someone who's just making a point... Wherever you're from, coming back after 12 years away, especially 12 years the other side of the planet, you're going to be shocked by it! There are generally nice people on this forum, and there are a couple of people from ED that HATE anything resembling change, and a couple of "newbies" that seem to think that if you're from ED pre 2000, you're a working class cokney "cor blimey guv'na" type, and that you don't really warrent having an opinion. Both of these groups are tw*ts quite frankly! On the bright side, there are plenty of nice things about the area, which I think you'll discover. I personally love The CPT, on Crytal Palace Road, as it's still a pub, and whilst it's far from perfect, it's a nice place for a drink. Some of the new bars on the Lane are pretty good. Inside 72 has a nice vibe, but is too small, and The Black Cherry is good for a cocktail, and the barman Jamie is a top fella! Anyway, welcome home, I hope you fall back in love with the place, and you're not the only one who thinks that everything is better. Not all change is good!
  24. Those paths are a nightmare!!!!! When you're getting of a train from London Bridge (can't remember the platform number), and coming down that path there are a few steps towards the bottom. I REALLY WISH THEY'D PAINT THE EDGES OF THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE A DEATH TRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :X
  25. No, it's not him. They're actually still going (believe it or not), with a new singer, and it's one of the musicians..... I shall ask him again, as he did say this a couple of years back, and my memory is hazy.
