  1. Since writing the last post, I have discovered that the daughter of Ronald Searle who created the original St Trinian's cartoons (before the films), went to JAGS, and the uniform worn in his St Trinian's illustrations was modelled on that worn by the JAGS girls. See HERE.
  2. Seconded!
  3. A local pub was robbed over the weekend, the villans were heard shouting grab the Kegs and go! :-S
  4. Yeah, imagine St Trinian's in red jumpers and you're close (6)
  5. It's the off license opposite St Thomas Moore Hall.
  6. Sorry to go off topic again, but wanted to tell everyone that we had some lighting put up in the garden over the weekend, and it's left the decks a glow! Sorry, that's crap isn't it ;-)
  7. Next time send the staff to Cheers, they definitely stock it, as we've done several missions for another drinking establishment that shall remain anonymous ;-)
  8. nice bar run by nice people
  9. I've never been in to Caffe Nero, and don't intend to as I hate coffee. However, I really don't understand this hatred of the big chain stores. Don't bite my head off here, I'm just asking for an explanation of it. I'm very much up for local businesses, but I have no problem with large shops either. You should look at Sydenham High Street, there are loads and loads of local businesses, and they're grotty little pound shops for the most part. I think the residents of SE26 would roll out the red carpet for some nice chain stores! ;-)
  10. I thought you were talking about the rugby playing form of her weird orange boyfriend Gavin Henson. So, another Welsh person... cringe
  11. I agree that Inside is too small, hence the capitalized IF ;-) Shame, as it's a lovely bar.
  12. Well I hope you're right, as I'm still looking at close to 2k even at 80%! Fingers crossed!
  13. Inside 72 would be fab IF we could get a space reserved...
  14. Slightly off topic, but has anyone tried claiming back their bank charges? I'm halfway through the process, and will definitely post the results on here, if anyone has been badly stung for charges now is the time to try and claim back, as you can be sure the banks will be working night and day to close the loop holes!
  15. Er yeah sorry, was using my phone to type. now edited to OTHER ;-)
  16. My sister recently had ?2000 withdrawn / spent in Italy from her account. She got it back after filling in LOTS of forms!
  17. Without wanting to sound too unsympathetic, I'm sure the other businesses will pay the rent whilst the sea cow is out of action. Glad no one was hurt, and good luck getting it back on track.
  18. I too have a friend who works for the police, and can honestly say that I think he's a decent copper (we've actually had cross departmental dealings, so that's not just mates bias). however, having been on his stag do and a couple of other things, I can honestly say that some of the people that seem to be able to get in to the force are a real concern!
  19. CrystalClear Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > DM, I think keefs problems mainly stem from his > alcohol fueled stagger! Pot and kettle there sir! I suspect you wouldn't stand for it, you'd kick them off their bike and give them a black eye for no reason! ;-)
  20. I did not get you drunk!!!! In fact, I refused to buy you a drink all afternoon, and even allowed you to spend some money on drinks for me, just to keep you sober... I swear, you try your best for people and it's thrown back in your face! Now I know how poor Dulwichmum must've felt after going through all that trouble to find you a ladyfriend.. Hurt and let down!!! One day you'll think of someone other than yourself!!! ;-)
  21. Matt is right, it is illegal to cycle on the pavement. It is annoying, particularly when it's a chav with a handlebar in one hand, and a joint in the other!!!
  22. That's because you were drunk before you even headed to the EDT! :)-D
  23. Yes I know that, and maybe the people that enjoy wine, but who's partners don't, would go in there and spend their money, if their partners were catered for... If they do bottled beer though, that would seem to solve the problem. I've not been there, so I'm not judging, just making a point. I personally enjoy both beer and wine, depending on the occasion, but wine for me is more a thing to open at home with a nice meal, or just nice company, wine bar is not really my thing, but all power to them, and I'm glad to hear they're doing well, and pleasing the punters.
  24. Walked in there once... Walked out again. Too many people crammed in to too small a space, and nothing that made me think this'll be a nice place for a bite to eat.
  25. Fair point, but if one half of a couple is a big wine lover, and the other half doesn't really enjoy it, it would be nice to have the option to keep both happy.... Not suggesting a range of beers, it is after all a wine shop, but one decent option might be nice.
