I'll use mics for vocals, and guitar will go direct I imagine. (although will experiment)
-
Exactly! People used to hunt for food, because they basically had to. That is not the case here and now.
-
I see your point, but I don't really think the comparrison hold water. Why do people like pottery, when they can buy a perfectly good vase in the shops? You could turn that to many hobbies, but most of them don't involve going out and killing things for pure fun. I am sure it is a skill, I have absolutely no doubt about that, but basically it's all about the kill isn't it?

Hmm, in that case, it probably is more than I'd need, or ever get round to using, but yeah, may well come and pick your brain at some point, as I've never really done any recording. First thing I want to do is just record me on guitar, with a female vocal. Then add some more guitar, and some BVs, so all very simple (he says)...

I quite like that series (for the granddad). But to be fair to Lenny Henry, he didn't write it.
-
Problem is, he seems to believe that. I'm with Mick, it was an outrageous thing to say, and he had to go. Plus, he seems to have terrible man management skills!

In fact, having looked at some reviews, I think I may spend the ?220 on the Tascam Dp-008, as it looks to have everything I'd need...

Jeremy, having heard what you recorded of us, I'd be very interested in your old kit. How much would you like for it, and would you give me a quick tutorial? Know it's not "fit in your pocket" portable, but it could be carried around in a bag couldn't it? I understand what you're saying about laptop software *bob*, but for me, something that I can carry to a rehearsal studio, or a gig, would be ideal. Also like the look (and the price) of the Tascam that pr5irs mentions...

Only just read (well skimmed through most of) this thread. Just to add my opinion. I eat meat, and have no moral issue with it (although I do admit that it probably isn't sustainable). However, I think people that like hunting are a bit weird. Yes, you can claim that you kill stuff and eat it, but what is the point? You can buy it down the road, so don't give me that. It's macho nonsense, because people love the power that they feel when they kill something. Kill something withour firearms, and I'll take my hat off to you, and say fair game. As for whether or not Scribe is infact BigBadWolf, I'm not 100% sure, but it was definitely my first instinct, and the style of writing since definitely hasn't convinced me otherwise.

Or Muslim mouse?" > > I haven't seen it, so I've no opinion. Well I guess he has a point. However, black people I've heard talking about it, both in person, and on the radio, were raving about it, and encouraging people to watch it. I guess you can't please everyone, but would your fella's workmate rather there be no referrence to black people, or any other cultures on the telly? I'd just like someone who thinks it's racist, to explain to me why it is racist. They may have a point that other cultural groups would take ofence, but I'd say the same to those groups, why do you take offence? PS. I know you've not seen it WQ, and are only offering someone else's opinion, so not aiming that at you.

How the fuck is it racist? I bet it's white people making the complaints. I think it's genius!

Big question this morning is, being as it was Jah's birthday yesterday. Does he actually remember Spurs' famous victory? Gutted I never made it out to celebrate with you mate, kids suck sometimes!

Michael Keaton was great in that film!

Man U for me next time. That way, I'll be happy to lose.

Yeah, I treated myself to one of these recently, and I've used it once for about 10 minutes.

LOL, Spot on *bob*. I've looked at that thread, and al the things mentioned seem to have pros and cons. I am still liking the BOSS, because every review of it seems to be great, and I'm only after making some recordings for myself really, nothing too professional. I shall keep looking, but it's like when you're after a new mobile phone, the choices are a bit overwhealming!

I want to buy something decent to record some music on to. Would probably only be doing a guitar track or 2, and a vocal track or 2, so in theory a 4 track should be enough, but then I am limiting myself from the start. Saw this little bit of kit, and it looks good, and well priced, plus I like BOSS gear (well, their guitar effects anyway). Can anyone who plays with this sort of stuff offer an opinion, or recomend anything different? I am just thinking that for ?165, you can't really go wrong with that, and I can't justify spending a load right now.

We don?t really go for it at our house. We'll try to sit and have dinner together, but that's it. As a teenager, or maybe early 20s person, getting an anonymous valentines card is exciting and great (it didn?t happen to me enough!!!!!!!!). And I guess if I was single now, and got one, I?d still be very pleased. For couples, I think it?s a nonsense, and if you need a special day to remind you to treat your other half well, then you?re basically a bit shite.

Great player. Shame that he missed long periods through injury, when he was at his peak, and shame about that weird WC Final in '98. Enough good stuff to make up for it though!

Just to be clear, no i don't think that people should be given epidurals the second they ask for them. Of course there are medical reasons not to do it at times. However, I think it is plain wrong to try and deny a woman an epidural, when there is no reason not to do one, over than the fact you want to finish your shift, and it could slow thins down. Of course the NHS can't afford to give everyone an elective section, but equally'v they should give fbi request fair consideration. If a woman has had one child, and is too petrified to try for another because they can't face another difficult labour, they shouldn't just be labelled a softy by a medical professional, who has no concept of what the suffering was like for her.
