  1. I'd forgotten just how surreal things could get in those early days!
  2. I'm still here too, and will be tomorrow. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, Fear N' Boozin (under his alterego of CrystalClear) requested a girlfriend in the wanted section. Dulwichmum ended up calling him a cad after deciding to set him up with someone. That always made me chuckle.
  3. Mick, any praise for Kings, in your circumstances, would be well placed on This thread. It was started by someone just wanting some opinions, but I think a few people on there are put off Kings through pure snobbery, nothing more!
  4. We're going to Venezuela in Feb with a 9 month old, so any advise greatfully received. Can I drug her up to the eyeballs?!?!?!? ;-)
  5. As was E Honda's sumo slap, and definitely Blanka's electric tricks!
  6. I'll give you one daizie. Arf arf arf.
  7. I really wish the neighbours would come on and give their side of the story.
  8. Indeed. I tend to avoid the dragon punch, as it is a powerful move. I usually opt for a weak sonic boom just to keep them under control.
  9. Exactly right GG, and don't go saying one thing (it smells), but then start claiming you're going to get lung cancer, if you don't feel you're winning the argument. That will tend to lose you sympathy. Not sure if it's been said already, but do you own or rent your flat? If you own it, then invest in some insulation. If you rent it, ask your landlord to. If the smell can't get in, everyone's a winner! :)-D
  10. I know what you mean, but actually, a service under special measures is going to be one of the very best places to go to (whatever the service is), as they will not be putting a foot wrong!
  11. It is dangeour walking in these conditions, but to expect every inch of pavement to be gritted, is unrealistic, even with the best council in the land (not suggesting that Southwark are that). Also, even when gritted, the risk of falls is reduced, but doesn't go away. Sorry your friend fell, and pleased to hear you had a good experience at Kings. Recently, I've been there with my baby daughter, and I've gone in an ambulance with my dad, and both times the staff have all been fab under busy conditions. It angers me when people moan about these services, I know noone wants to sit waiting whilst in pain, but they really don't know how lucky they are compared to a lot of places!
  12. I think it's more that the employee has the right to ask you not to (should they wish), and leave if you refuse. I don't think they can demand you to stop.
  13. Think I said earlier, that I couldn't say how I'd act in that situation, I like to think I'd be releived they'd gone, call the police, and cuddle my wife and daughter, but who knows. If I did go chasing with a cricket bat though, I'd be in the wrong as far as the law was concerned, and I'd not be "defending myself". That is the point.
  14. Not sure that works Sean. But for the record, what would your advise be if it was the cat lady situation? And what is your advise for the smoke situation?
  15. You said it was the smell of smoke. Are you now saying that your flat gets filled up with smoke? If you are, then that is a completely different thing. I still have absolutely no sympathy with anyone suggesting this person shouldn't do exactly as he wishes in his own home (so long as it's within the law). However, if your flat is actually getting filled with smoke, then the landlord should be doing something.
  16. This simply boils down to whether or not you think it's okay to hunt someone down and punish them for breaking in to your house and threatening your family. It is not a case of self defence. It is not spur of the moment. I agree with Huguenot, it was a lynch mob. Whether you think they were in the right or not, is nothing to do with it really.

It is probably the same as the old football focus threads, which just get so big, they stop working. Start a new one (if you must).
  18. Got home about half hour ago, afull 3 hours after leaving my office. Just can't believe the effect on the trains! Now reaching for a strong drink.
  19. I got on a train at LB at 4.50, we left an hour later. 200 yards later we stopped again, and have just been told we have to go back to LB. Bloody nightmare!
  20. London Bridge is f**ked at the moment.
  21. Changing the subject then... I'd agree that Upson won the ball, but fair play to Lampard keeping his nerve 3 times, that can't have been an easy thing to do!
  22. Fair enough, but I disagree with you. There have been players who are were thuggish, some wore the red of Liverpool, but IMO, Keane was something else, just a nasty man, who probably would have been banged up for GBH or worse, had he not been a good footballer. Not necessary SP, for someone who claims to "ignore" Atila, you seem to try and wind him up more than anyone else on here. Surely better to just genuinely ignore him if he riles you, and then if he is abusive, you'll have more of a leg to stand on if you want to complain. Just my opinion of course.

  24. I'm with Brendan, it should be Father Christmas. Anyway, my daughter is too young for all this, but when she's a bit older, I shall advise her that Father Christmas will appreciate a nice big Jack Daniels, and possibly a joint.
