  3. Gosh, you really are full of the joys of spring, aren't you? You might say that you're not glad or smug but you are making sure everyone knows "I told you so" I'm sure local businesses must be so happy to hear that! Can't you try and be a little more positive?!

Looks like 2 more tube stations are heading South - sadly not in the SE direction though : ( http://now-here-this.timeout.com/2014/11/14/all-stations-go-for-the-northern-line-extension-to-battersea/
  5. Well that was a fun night! Bit disappointed in my Kolrahni (?) in terms of sauce thickness, but it was quite tasty.... However I was pleased it came into it's own as a 'fire-extinguisher' for Hibbs after she mistook that giant green chilli for a green bean! Fun in the Bishop too ; )
  6. Well, they have dug up around the bus stop outside Aura Court, and there is a notice saying it's emergency electric work... What's annoying is there is no-one working on it today.... better not wait til tonight to start drilling again!
  7. It's 3am and I've just been woken by pneumatic drilling taking place somewhere on Peckham Rye (the road) - what the heck is going on???
  8. I'm coming!!!!! Will probably see you in the curry house though : )
  9. Did you know she was married 4 times? She now runs a inn/B&B in Carmel, California......

  11. Me & Mr Onion will be attending! x
  12. Sorry Mr P - we won't be there either.... going to the theatre that night - but you can raise a glass to our wedding anniversary! x
  13. Aah - Hog & Heifers..... MickMac - you've just brought back the memory of a wild night out in New York, many moons ago.... I seem to have recollections of being hauled onto that bar and dancing my ass off to (embarrassingly..) the Sheryl Crow track 'That Don't Impress Me Much' (!!!) - thankfully I wasn't made to pour jugs of water over myself - unlike the girls that worked there!
  14. I'm afraid the Onion and I will be away in Ireland that week, so it's a no from us : ( We'll raise a glass of the local tipple in honour of you though Mick! x
  15. I do have an iPhone... but I'd rather use a website whilst I am at work.... the problem is that many companies I worl for block access to gmail etc so I can't use Google... Also Plaxo seems to be blocked.....
  16. Hello As I am now freelance, and work in different offices all the time, I'm looking to create a private on-line contacts book that I can access wherever I am. Has anyone any recommendations of websites to use? There seem to be a whole host out there.... Or would I be better to make an excel document that I keep on a memory stick and take everywhere? Thanks!
  17. Hello Ms Maz.... Well, I'm afraid "thems the breaks, as they say!" My way of thinking about it is, that I take along clothes that I was going to get rid of anyway, and even if I find one nice thing - a skirt, or a sweater, or even as I did once, a really cute little purse, then I come away pretty happy.... it's difficult now to buy an item for ?5.... One of the ladies who came yesterday brought a whole load of really nice items - and went away with a fabulous leather skirt... she was happy! It's a great way of recycling your clothes to someone who will enjoy them more that you do : )
  18. Hello - I hope it's OK to jump on this thread..... I'm about to join Zipcar and wondered if there was anyone that had any promo codes, or indeed get a freebie if they recommend someone.... thought it might be nice for someone to get something for nothing! PM me if you can help, and I can pass on my details! Thanks Ally
  19. Hello again Family Room... Just an update - my Fashion Swap Shop is going ahead this Sunday at the EDT (upstairs in the Lodge) This is a great way to recycle your wardrobe with ver little cost - and the more people that come, the more clothes there will be to choose from! get your friends/family/co-workers along too! You can bring your clothes from 12 noon, and swap from 2-4pm. The Lodge has a nice upstairs area where you can get glass of wine, or why not have a roast dinner downstairs! I've attached a flyer of how it works.. but please do ask if you have any other queries... ?1 of every ticket goes to Clic Sargent, which is a charity for children with cancer. Hope to see some you there! Many thanks Ally
  20. Hello all Someone asked me if the event was open to men, and I'm afraid this one isn't - just ladies clothes please! Perhaps if this goes well, I may do one to incorporate mens clothing too.... Ally x
  21. Hello everyone... Well, an update for you all! The fashion event is going ahead - hurrah! 22. Jphopia - you're exactly the "customer" I'm looking for!! Will keep you updated!
  23. Hello all... I've posted this in the Lounge too, but it was suggested I post in here too : ) I'm thinking about organising a Clothes Swap event in East Dulwich, and I'd like to know if there is much interest.... If you don't know what "shwopping" is, (sometimes called Swishing), you basically bring a number of (good quality) clothes you don't wear/want anymore, hand them over at the venue at a set time, receive a number of tokens according to what you have brought, then an hour later come back and use your tokens "buy" a whole load of "new" clothes. I've got a venue potentially booked, so I'm now trying to establish if there are enough potential swappers! Let me know what you think... I'm interested in all comments! (Here's the link to the other thread - might answer any questions you have!) http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1065503
  24. JBoleyn - re clothes left over... If the event goes well then I will hang onto the clothes so I have more stock for another event... however if not then they will go to Cancer Research. Otta - : )
