  1. Hello again.... Thanks for the replies... Really helpful knowing there are some interested folk... I'll try and answer queries so far... Georgia/Seema - thanks for your support! Otta - I do want to post in the family room too... Just wanted to check with admin I was allowed too! Luana - provisional date is Sunday 21st April Pickle/Indiepanda... There is no way of knowing how many people will be of certain sizes I'm afraid... Just a chance I'll have to take.. Hopefully if of you enough attend there will be a good choice.. And yes, shoes and handbags will be allowed! Alan Medic/Ellie78 - re quality of clothes, it would be me and team who decide what tokens clothes would get... I guess as an estimate items from Reiss/Whistles would be 'gold' whilst M&S, Debenhams, Hennes, Dotty P etc would be 'silver'.. I'm afraid no Primark allowed! Canela - yes, there would be a charge, as I need to pay for clothes rail hire etc but I'm thinking it would be more like ?5 which I personally think is a fair price... And yes, you could take your old clothes home if you don't find anything you like! Hopefully that wouldn't be the case! I myself have been to several of these events, some good, some not so great so I'm hoping to take the best of my experiences from them and make this a worthwhile event... If it went well then I'd look at doing them on a more regular basis. Please do keep comments coming - it's all really useful for me...: )
  2. I'm thinking about organising a Clothes Swap event in East Dulwich, and I'd like to know if there is much interest.... If you don't know what "shwopping" is, (sometimes called Swishing), you basically bring a number of (good quality) clothes you don't wear/want anymore, hand them over at the venue at a set time, receive a number of tokens according to what you have brought, then an hour later come back and use your tokens "buy" a whole load of "new" clothes. I've got a venue potentially booked, so I'm now trying to establish if there are enough potential swappers! Let me know what you think...
  3. Well that was a fun night! So nice to have big crowd there... really enjoyed it! Well done to the Dulwich Tandoori for fitting us all in (even rearranging the "walls" - they did well! Great food flavours, and enjoyed to food, even though my tikka masala was rather vivid in colour! Thought the paratha was one of the best I've tasted - yummy! And yes - the magic Fox was ace : )
  4. I think Mr Cat (!) and I are up for this! x
  5. I think it was the guy who was one of the baddies who shot all the CIA men in Gettysburg..... he had a scarred face?
  6. Just saw an ad on the TV this morning for Iceland, and they are selling (frozen) Greggs sausage rolls!!!
  7. We went to the Columbian restaurant last night - and it was a total meat feast! Well worth checking out... think it was called El Rancho De Lalo.... I had the national Columbian dish which comprised of a spicy sausage, pork belly (with crackling), beef steak, ref-fried kidney beans, rice - with fried egg on top (!), fried plantain and cornbread - all for ?10! Took a photo - will post it when I figure out how! Great atmosphere too... there were so many cafes/restaurants to try - and loads of cuisines! Finished the evening off with a glass of wine outside The Agile Rabbit listening to a great jazz funk band - Alice in Grooveland...
  8. Hello - is this still happening?? I may be interested in having a stall - can you tell me a bit more? Thanks!
  9. Next Wednesday 27 June Weegee.... Mike did change the thread title a few posts back but for some reason it's reverted back to the May date.... It's a Tandoori Nights... I'll be there!

  13. Did anything come of this? Has a group been set up?
  14. Very much enjoyed last evenings outing.... good food and great company :)) I found my Rosini Chicken dish a little hot (it on;y had 1 chilli picture next to it!) but then I am a bit of a wimp! :-$ Looking forward to Jaflong - and the sweeties at the end of the meal!

  16. I'll be there too... on my lonesome.... the 'Onion' os otherwise engaged!
  17. Many thanks for all your ideas - they were great! I ended up devising a treasure/scavenger hunt for him around the house and garden for him to find his presents which he seemed to enjoy.... and we sat and played trains for ages with his giant train set he has... and Nanna made him a cake in the shape of a train and we did some balloon games! We'll be off the Bluebell railway when his immunes have improved - and I also contacted a model railway club down in Kent who are going to arrange for him to come and visit at the end of March - so things to look forward too! Thanks for all you good wishes too - my brother was very touched :) AC
  18. Hello there My lovely nephew is 4 years old this weekend and I'm looking for ideas of how we can celebrate his birthday. There are a few problems however - he has leukaemia and although thankfully in remission his blood count is not good this week and his immune system is down, therefore he can't be in places with lots of people in - so swimming, the cinema, adventure play grounds are out. We were going to take him to Days out with Thomas at the Kent & East Sussex railway - as he is OBSESSED with trains - but can't now - so if you have any ideas involving trains that would be great! We can leave the house so anywhere in SE London or Kent is fine.... Also - it will be just me, his dad and his Nanna there. Or could we organise something for him at home that's a bit different? Any ideas gratefully received! Thank you AC x
  19. Sorry - can't do the 24th : (
  20. I'd come to Ganapati - but sadly not Curry Cabin - too many bad meals there! However if CC wins out then I'll just join you next month!

  24. Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So, shall we just forget this one then? Are you having a little hissy fit here Mr P?!!!!
  25. Well that was a complete waste of time - the SE15 Safer neighbourhood Team took 10 days to return my e-mail.... (even though it says responses will be dealt with in 24 hours) and have basically said that unless they are driving without licences or insurance - then they can't do anything - they said that they are entitled to drive up and down the road as long as they like - even though they are disturbing everyone living on it.... Humph.
