  1. And in the meantime....
  2. I ride on the pavement, ride through red lights, carry my daughter on my bike rack, ride with my dogs on their leads, pull my new bike trailer behind my bike because my bike is my main form of transport. I have never ran into anyone and I slow down if I am on the pavement and people are walking. I also appologise and give way, as pedestrians should have priority if it is not a cycle lane. I usually do most of my riding on the road, but if the road or junction is particularly dangerous or congested, I get on the pavement. Sitting in traffic is ok if you are in a covered vehicle, but you can get an injury if you are a cyclist and let your muscles cool down. I go through red lights because I need to let the traffic behind me see me as I have been hit by cars turning left who did not notice I was there, or to avoid the dangerous dash through the lights that occurs as soon as the lights change to green. I do not care that my actions are illegal, as I think it is more important that I stay alive as I have 4 kids and a granddaughter who would miss me if I got mown down by the nice people who become lunatic drivers as soon as they get behind a wheel.
  3. I would be happy for a MadMax type life if I didn't have a dodgy back and thyroid trouble!
  4. Snorky - I can get my dogs to come and piss in your garden if you like, that should keep the cats away.
  5. Thanx guys, I have just applied for the volunteering bit in the Refugee council too. I had looked there before but there were no vacancies. That was a while ago tho. I've just changed my CV again to say up to 6 months of voluntary work cos I think that may be the only way to my foot on the ladder. I'll keep you posted.
  6. Boll@x, how many people have you ever heard of that got killed by a cyclist?
  7. SeanMG - hmmn, I'm not optimistic about them giving up their luxuries without a fight either!
  8. Have you seen this in the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/oil/story/0,,2196435,00.html Head for the hills!!
  9. I am proudly working class, and can't stand the way labels like 'chav' are used to alienate and ridiclule sections of the working class, so I felt the need to celebrate the chavvy side of me (and most of the people I know). I don't buy organic chicken because I can't afford it. I get pretty much all of my shopping in Lidl because it's cheap but good quality, and I try to grow some of my own. I'm hoping to get som chickens in the spring too. In the past all working class people used to produce some of their own food and were healthier for it. Now we have been told we need to have cream walls, decking and other sh1t we don't need, and buy all our food from big businesses who make millions from selling us food that is poisoning us.
  10. I have not seen anything advertised for kids in the area, but maybe I just don't know where to look, so if anyone knows of any holiday playschemes or activities that are cheap or free, please let me know, becuase I am very boring company for my 8 year old!
  11. Agreed! At least on my old estate we had football pitches, basketball pitches and an adventure playground that did a holiday club for free. It's half term now, and I have no idea what there is my daughter to do in the area.
  12. I never have a problem with cats, foxes, squirrels etc - my 2 dogs seem to keep them all away!
  13. Thanks, I just applied online as a volunteer. I hope I get something soon, I'm getting bored stupid stuck at home now!
  14. That's why I'm in the Green Party, they are a mad mix of all kinds of people, although there are some in the party at the moment, trying to turn us into a clone of the other grey parties. Hopefully they will not succeed, but history tells us that any egalitarian/revolutionary party always gets sidetracked (infiltrated?) and watered down the closer they get to 'power'.
  15. Vote for who tho? How many chav's standing to represent the chavs? How many are ever likely to be selected by mainstream, high spin, middle-class-vote chasing parties?
  16. No, most chavs don't bother to vote because the only people represented in our representative 'democracy' are the middle and upper classes!
  17. Hi everyone, I have applied for scores of jobs, had one unsuccessful interview and before I go knocking on the doors of Iceland, Tesco or Burger King, thought I'd publicly prostrate myself on here in the hope that one of you might know someone who might let me work for free to get some experience. So here goes. I'm looking for work (paid or unpaid, part-time or full-time) as an immigration and/or asylum caseworker.
  18. Unkle Paulie - the criminal age of responsibility is 10, so if there is evidence of a crime having been committed by a child from the age of 10 - 13, unless there is proof the kid was lacking mental capacity, they will be prosecuted. Once they reach the age of 14 they will be prosecuted regardless of mental capacity. The two Bulger murderers were only 11, and they got prosecuted. There are countless other crimes on record where the offender is only 11 or 12, so saying the youths will get away with a crime because of their age is factually incorrect.
  19. I never beleived that I snored, until my ex-husband recorded me snoring very loudly, with his voice talking over the top of it to prove it wasn't just him making funny noises. I was horrified!
  20. Bob - I'd get a big farm with woodland and a fast flowing stream on a relatively high piece of land. I'd also install solar panels, windmills and a water mill and convert loads of the barns into homes for my kids, grandkids, Dad, brothers and any mates who want to come too. Why are you gona buy one for me?? Maybe I should set up a charity and raise money to help all the landless chavs to become peasants and subsitance farmers again.
  21. I hate stuff. Can't be arsed with all the clutter. I'm way too much of a functionalsit (and a tight arse) to buy anything I don't absolutely need.
  22. I'd lovr to know who actually started all this.
  23. And there was me thinking that's where i could go and get a sugar daddy.
  24. I had red pea soup with dumplings and yam. Yum Yum
