  1. As I get older I'm worried that my reactions are slowing down, and for the first time since I was a kid, I feel vulnerable sometimes. Not a nice way to feel. I spend some time down the gym pushing heavy weights and I feel a bit better, but I have to face the fact it's all downhill now!!
  2. advise/advice
  3. I got attacked by 2 guys in Paris ages ago at about 4 in the morning and my first instinct was to fight. They didn't get my bag and I was a bit messed up afterwards, but at the time I just reacted instinctively. I've been in a few potentially life threatening situations and my first instinct has always been to protect myself, my friends or family and fight. I don't think the age of a group of attackers is really going to be foremost in your mind when attacked, and there is no way a court would hold you responsible for instinctively fighting back, unless you go beyond neccessary force and run after them to beat them up or something.
  4. Executive officers salaries
  5. I'm not being funny, but if someone thinks they are old enough to start mugging people then they must know they are old enough for a punch in the mouth.
  6. And I thought Mockney was the fount of all knowledge. I'm devastated.
  7. Dom - but the Green Party like to promote localism, so all that travelling to and from the field would have to be a no no. Downsouth - Thank you for your gallant rescue, but I did accuse Mr Mo of having Asperger's, so I suppose he has some excuse to get personal. I think he's just like one of those shy little boys in the playground who can't tell you that they have a crush on you, so they run up and pull your hair or push you or something. Only problem with that though, is that girls like me lacked the sensitivity to suss this out and beat the crap out of them instead.
  8. i'm always in favour of more cycle paths because my bike is my main mode of transport. I agree with Asset, though, I think pedestrians need some training on sharing the pathways with cyclists, but I always think it's better for cyclists and pedestrians to share space than to force the cyclists to share with the cars, buses and trucks where any minor collision could end in a fatality instead of a few bruises.
  9. or overfertile ones who only have to stand near a guy to get pregnant!
  10. I went to Oxford to see "Immortal Technique" at some underground rap place. It was full of (very tame) students.
  11. I'm babysitting my granddaughter so haven't been able to read it properly, but I think dispensing chemists who offer advanced services are exempt from 'control of entry' test. see para 24 I am not sure about the predujicial effect test tho. Might have to look at the new regs rather than this consultation document.
  12. AP - I thought they may have been related! Maurice, it's not always easy to choose how many kids you have, believe it or not.
  13. Well done fellow chav-like Rose!
  14. oh yes, I already have a job - raising my kids on my own. I'm looking for a supplementary job, thanx!
  15. The Green Party are almost as impoverished as me, and their HQ is overcrowded, draughty and generally crap. They definately need to move to a better space, but seeing as we don't take donations from corporate policy makers, we have to make do with subscriptions, and they don't stretch to rent for swanky HQ buildings.
  16. "ad he not accidentally tripped and fallen open-mouthed onto a penis" - OMG can't stop laughing!!!!
  17. Yeh it'a a bit nuts. I think we should all spread a bit of love, and stop being so judgemental. You never know you might actually find a few of us chavvy types are not that bad, I know cos I discoverd not all middle-class people are wankers, and some of them are my best friends.
  18. Most of the 1973 Fair Trading act has been repealed, and s.2 doesn't say what you quoted. Here is a link to what s.2 actually says http://www.statutelaw.gov.uk/content.aspx?LegType=All+Legislation&title=fair+trading+act&Year=1973&searchEnacted=0&extentMatchOnly=0&confersPower=0&blanketAmendment=0&sortAlpha=0&TYPE=QS&PageNumber=1&NavFrom=0&parentActiveTextDocId=1774511&ActiveTextDocId=1774516&filesize=4192 Do you have a link to the quote above, so I can read more of the statute to get a better idea of what it actually means please? I want to know what would be considered dispensing that could be prejudicial to the proper provision of medical, pharmaceutical or dispensing services. This might be what you were talking about, http://www.dh.gov.uk/prod_consum_dh/idcplg?IdcService=GET_FILE&dID=8766&Rendition=Web but it says something about the NHS Act. I'm gona have a read through now.
  19. Thanks for the back-up guys!! Haha
  20. Yes it was against Peter Tatchell, and was really dirty. He has since joined the Green Party and is standing in Oxford. He stands a chance of getting in too. I doubt Mr Hughes will become leader, but it would be wierd for me if he did because I might get more opportunity to soap-box purely by standing against him as a lowly Green candidate in his elevated position. I'm feeling a bit starstruck!!
  21. What is really wierd is that Simon Hughes has been all over the telly since Mr Cambell resigned, and if he becomes leader of the Lib Dems, I'm going to be standing against a leader of a major-ish party in the next election!! I'm all excited! I hope Simon Hughes wins the forthcoming leadership contest.
  22. Mightyroar - "this is a pharmaceutical service and it is therefore a statutory requirement that consultation takes place." Not being big on planning law, can you tell me what statute requires consultation on planned pharmaceutical services please.
