Dawson heights parking charge notice
Happyme5 replied to Tibbytubs's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We git a ticket when we tried to park there to watch the fireworks. Anyways we didn't even get a space and so we didn't actually park. But we got a penalty notice. We just paid up. And we won't be taking our car their ever again. You probably needed a Southwark council visitors permit. I imagine it would have needed to be booked online B4 or by the end of the day that you parked. Beat thing to do is contact Southwark Council Estate parking to clarify the situation. I hope your freebie was worth the value of your penalty. -
TY very much 👍

Thank you I was very shaken and upset. I couldn't understand what or why it happened. Until I told my friend about it. I was probably very lucky that I had popped my phone in my pocket as I got out of the car. It was near the Local Sainsbury's store by crystal palace rd. I didn't report it. But maybe I should have. It happened so quickly my hubby didn't see a thing / he was sitting in the car.

I was nearly knocked over by a cyclist wearing dark clothing with no lights which "accidentally" nearly rode into me in the dark on a very wide, empty, pavement! It was really scary. When I told my friend she asked me if I had my phone in my hand. I had only just put the phone back in my pocket.

I totally agree it just seems that it a thing nowadays. It must be due to how fireworks are sold.

Ohh dear. Fireworks can be great fun. Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games. Watching them was more enjoyable than watching TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs). It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable. And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people. It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it. But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.

Some of them might be due to Diwali celebrations.

Hi Dominic, Rod comes highly recommended. My patio is still looking great. He is highly professional and an expert in all stone, concrete brick and tile work. Plus he has a multi skill set the best term is a Master Builder. He is hard working and reliable, trustworthy and he really does take pride in all he does. -
Burst pipe in underhill road near barry road
Happyme5 replied to tedfudge's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well this will help tomorrow morning for trying to get work from this end of Underhill Road. I presume the bus stop will be closed again. As I mentioned before this is to test the lead levels in Thames water. By the way after googling I noticed England isn't even in the top 10 countries for water quality. I wonder are we in the top ten for cost to individual 🏠 🏡? Does anyone know? -

How am I going to get work tomorrow. Thames water have planned works at Underhill Rd where it meets Melford Rd. So I decided to avoid the P13 and 363 bus routes this week. Now if Barry Rd is closed it will affect the 197 and 12 bus routes. I am so fed up with continuous disruption to basic transport in this area. I love East Dulwich but I do not love the local transport and road works. -
Celia Hammond - Just giving fundraiser - Autumn neutering
Happyme5 replied to Angelina's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I tried to adopt a cat from Celia Hammond years ago. I didn't ask for a cute little kitten just any cat. I wanted to do the right thing and give a loving home to a cat. I was turned down - I lived near a road etc etc . So I went out and brought a kitten who is now about 16 years old and very loved. As long as good people find it impossible to adopt they will end up going out to buy a cat. This in turn encourages people to allow their pets to reproduce and adds to the never ending cycle of too many cats needing a good home! I did wonder who would be deemed good enough to re-home a cat. Reading the other comments has made me feel a bit better about being turned down. And we all love our Kitty 🐈💞 🐈 💞🐈 💞 -
