As far as I can work out much of the so called Christian right, are basically just right wingers and OT fundamentalists who have fallen back on the bible to support narrow minded bigotry. It's deeply rooted in the culture of slave ownership and frontier mentality. It'd be nice to think tyt 300 years post enlightenment and 150 years post slavery, not to mention a good century or so post frontier that people might have moblved on, but some people just don't want to and if ancient texts can justify the then it's a nicely circular logic. Also as far as I can see there's not great deal of Christianity in many of these US Christian right movements with a great deal more OT help fee and brimstne as they pick and choose the bits they like. I dnt see many of them avoiding lobster as they preach stoning gays and are happy enough with an eye for an eye over love thy neighbour (classic comedy). All of which to basically say 'armed nutter in killing person shock' shock!

You're a nice guy mike, I've met you on a couple of times and I like you, but you self confessedly like a bit of the baser banter. Nothing wrong there but DM absolutely has a point in that the lounge now no longer offers anything nut and it is tiresome and it is dull and it's not really worth reading and I think a lot of long term lurkeds and posters feel alienated by it or have gone altogether. Good riddance to the old crowd? Perhaps, though i wouldn't agree. The footballbthread has actually started behaving again and the difference is immediately palpable which can only be a good thing. This forum belongs to everyone and the problems if censorship is something the admin keenly feels. A smidgeon of self-censorship however goes a long way. Sorry DM picked ok you as on the whole I don't think you're that bad unlike a few others, I like to think that criticism can be taken on board rather than a knew jerk attack especially as she has apologised and tempered her initial words, though frankly even those words were considered and never crass and IMHO needed to be said ... Or written or whatever

I doubt he's a bar?a fan RD, however spaniards v the english it's probably no contest. When commentator said there were people in Madrid supporting man u I wasn't too convinced. There's a strange lingering antipathy towards England (they are aware that there are other countries in Reino Unido but they always refer to all of us as los ingleses). They may like us individually (away from the costas) and love England itself but I think they always love to get one over on us even if it be catalans especially in a weirdly more united post euro championship Spain. I could be wrong though.

The bell wire that hooks us all up round here is very old and the dulwich and brixton exchanges are yet to be modernised, so depending on your distance from whichever exchange you're on, it may be that no ISP can improve your speed. I can get no more than 2 MBs (bits not bytes) even though I was upgraded to 8 about 3 years ago, in fact I kept getting complete loss, until I got the exchange engineer to actually lower me to about 1.5. Satellite perhaps?
