  1. There's always the mnistry of justice Snorks. We'd be fools not to get DC involved, perhaps defence. How's about Huguenot in education?
  2. Excellent choices HB. Are you a spare me the details PM or a spare me your opinion (no comparisons to recent incumbents...honest). Either way my first act will be to withdraw our troops from their brushfire wars, equip them properly then invade France. Baguettes in Paris by Christmas everyone.
  3. Again fair point bob. I've no issue with expenses, I lived in Amsterdam for a year in a second home paid for by company with meals claimable. I didn't grub every penny and I reckon the whole experience cost me in order of three grand (I never got round to claiming my daily allowance for instance). As I said earlier I think the majority have simply used the system. Some like Kate Hoey and Ed Milliband can even hold their heads up high. Some should be voted out. I hope their constituents do the right thing and vote them out, or better still the parties not put them up for reelection. Media creation or no the anger is real and they'd be wise to take note.
  4. I see whatbuoure saying bob but if these people had made these relocation claims in a private company heydbhave been sacked for grows misconduct. I don't see whybthe same standards shouldn't apply to public life which should, after all be more scrupulous. This isn't righteous indignation, I just never pike to we people having their cake and eating it.
  5. Oh and I'm not having the whole broken system thing. If as it seems the majority have used rather than abused the system then it ain't broke, it's weak and open to abuse which makes it a matter of personal integrity in public service. I'm loving the irony of the left leaning posters screeching about personal responsibility and the right of centre saying that it's down to the (parliamentary) social fabric to blame btw. ;)
  6. Again both sides have it. It's uter hypocrisy on part of those MPs who were effectively taking the piss, if their were legal means I'd be delighted though I doubt it. What was it Blair said after Tory sleaze 'it's not just about being clear we, but being seen to be cleaner' *paraphrases* fat chance. But hugs is right, our democratic system continues healthily in it's bumbling fashion, but the onus is on us to throw out of parliament anyone who's actions disgusted us. Give it a go, don't vote with the usual apathetic lack of imagination. Maybe yes we can indeed have change. It's our fault though, not theirs.
  7. SMG: "Lot's of people saying they would like the perks Lot's of people saying they would do a better job ... I think I see a way forward people" Ted Max:"Draw Lot's?"
  8. Cheers. I thought I was jaded and hard to surprise. Leaves me feeling ever so slightly ambivalent about this ;)
  9. Really, I'm genuinely surprised. I assumed the police could be thugs, I assumed they make mistakes and try to cover them up, but this is a level of cynicism I didn't think they were capable of.
  10. Genuinely shocking if that turns out to be true!! That's properly fucked up.
  11. I RRoDed too. Microsoft were pretty good about it I must say, but I'm not surprised they won't touch second hand goods, though can see your point, if it's still under warranty then what's the problem? Welcome to the forum btw, and more especially the geeks room, not many of us in here frankly, it's nice, quiet and friendly :)
  12. Still in no danger of being able to read it without wanting to stick a blunt gnome in my eye. Anyone liking it....anyone....anyone... ...Bueller....?
  13. I may save my cash for another game http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/624-Resident-Evil-5 Err, don't click if you're easilty offended btw
  14. They've character and talent in spades and from what i gather (this review included) are a treat live. And young...so young. They'll return to form.
  15. Agree with just about everybody on all sides of the debate on this one. Mainly looking forward to he next private eye which should unearth a torrent of hypocrisy form the journos and more particularly from their tax dodging proprieters. Still, broken system or no this has done a greAt deal to tarnish the integrity of our lords and masters which was already at an all time low and some of them really should hang their heads in shame, especially the flippers and double for those who flipped second home to Coastal cottage.
  16. Lovely day and topped nicely with chilli pepper Pete's. Surely demand for more events getting community together in the park?
  17. Sorry about that Dave, watched the game (telly), competitive I guess is the flattering way to describe it. 13 wins in a row at Elland Rd is it? You'll be fine. Happy times for my affiliations, Stoke are almost certainly safe and Stevenage win their second FA Trophy at Wembly in 3 season, hurrah, well done Borough!!! Come on the Hammers, make it a mockney hattrick!!!
  18. Yeah got that the other day. Didn't quite know what to make of it at first but just keep coming back to it. That and the latest decemberists. Loud prog and proud.
  19. First place to look is the Wisden of real women, FHM. Caprice and Holly Valance should slug it out for the title of woman of the millennium, preferably in a vat of butter. Barring that a statue of Felicity Kendall on the plinth? I've heard much tell of Ms Stansfield that would turn your postmans hair grey overnight! What ever happened to?
  20. Sam, prancing pony. Bloody hell is someone not telling me something here? Will there be elves at the gig? Hmm Camden, ore than likely as it goes. As ot goes been disappointed by beirut since the debut, I take it you're a NMH fan pp
  21. Sorry brendan that was windies. Bloody iPhone thinks it knows better :(
  22. According to OBO the windies look like a vastly oversized bra stuffed with a single sock. Nicely put. *edited for goddamn autocorrect*
  23. My brother texted (tuxt, taxt?) from a bar in Spain and seemed most happy that it was Cole's failed clearance at fault. I don't think he likes him very much, and to quote Gaff "But then again, who does?"
  24. will check it out, cheers beef.
