  1. "At end of day it's a volatile region which has been like that long before oil and religion." It's so nice and superior to be a civilised European, makes you feel kind of smug doesn't it to live in a continent where we didn't go in for that fighting wars malarkey and putting towns to the sword nonsense for thousands of years. Oh, hang on a minute...
  2. I see the SE23 forum got there first!!
  3. "I, like everyone else, am waiting for the day that I tune into a game being pundited by Jamie Redknapp only to find that his face has fallen six inches and he can only lift his eyelids halfway up his eyes." I've my own issues with 'arry (though he'll always be a Hammer at heart), but that's a little harsh. Harry looks like that after a bad car crash where Brian Tiler died and Harry wasn't too far off himself.
  4. hilarious, the Roy Keane is uncanny! "- we used to call [cisse] 50 cent" - because of his resemblance to the rapper? - no, because that's all he was worth to be fair to the boy"
  5. Jim O'Rourke covering the Spice Girls' Viva Forever.
  6. In all fairness he does provide entertainment in a way that the royals have been unable to do since the cringingly awful It's a royal knockout.
  7. Did anyone else hear Rod Richards on the Today programme this morning insisting that it's all political correctness gone mad, and that 'paki isn't a rude word it's just a word people say', and that it's no ruder than Jock or kiwi. Who ever said MPs are out of touch?!?!? In all fairness everyone knows Harry is gaff prone and he's apologised, so what on earth was this nutter doing defending him, that frankly was bizarre!
  8. indeed keef, and nice to meet you too Matthew. And also a big hello to quids, so glad you finally made it. A west Ham bobble hat my mission for the day!!!
  9. Oh god, is it light already? Tip top night. Lovely to meet everyone, most particularly all those who said 'sod it' and came along regardless, I hope you enjoyed. Great to see everyone as ever and I hope I didn't slur too much at you, and god Miles I hope that wasn't me, sorry if I did though I can't imagine why I would, you seemed a top chap. Oh and Gen, sorry that both me and missus Mockney badgered you about your dopplegangerness!! (the one on the left) What ever happened to Badger btw?
  10. Up by Cambridge Circus on the corner of the road leading to 7(?) dials.
  11. Frankly it looks a bit like the pressure is making Rafa go a little bit Keegan. Watch this space for total meltdown by May!!
  12. Ahh, SatFS back catalogue was being sold a 2 quid a pop in Fopp!!
  13. Despite Beef's .. err...beef with Bon Iver, I think t'is a fine album indeed. just listening to another of his pet hates, Fleet Foxes. I have to say, can't put my finger on who, but I basically already own this album as done by someone else, will update when tip of tongue manifests to a name. Not Mercury Rev, but getting closer.
  14. Highly recommend the Fopp sale at the moment. Large selection of albums for sale at ?2-5, most in the ?2-3 and good ones to, especially if you're looking to beef p your back catalogue. I just got: Buck 65 - Situation Go Team! - Proof of Youth The Lilac Time - Astronaut Fleet Foxes - Eponymous Wedding Present - RCA Years Tom Verlaine - Warm & Cool for ?18. Lunch hour well spent.
  15. http://www.holymoly.com/javaImages/25/6a/0,,12643~5073445,00.jpg Moments of ever so slightly NSFW, but not all that bad. Funny though.
  16. I'm sorry to shatter your illusions, but I've even been known to do the odd number two* now and then...shhhhh *though of course it smells of bluebells
  17. What on earth is all this "nice-nice" nonsense? In all fairness everyone in her family is trying to persuade her mum to break the news. SHe goes to a village school with about 20 sweet but naive village types and next school year she'll be in the local secondary school with 500 odd towny roustabouts, and they'll tease her to death if they catch a whiff of it.
  18. Geeez. A man can't even offer a girl a lollipop just before shattering her illusions these days. Darn Daily Mail has a lot to answer for frankly. Missus Mocker's niece is 11 and still believes in Santy(sic). I had to bite my tongue on more than one occasion I must say, I mean 11?!?!?. I guess we didn't help last year when we got our photo taken with him in Lapland* and got him to send her a letter. *he's 7ft tall you know!!
  19. Errm, you may want to sit down for a moment Kel...would you like a lollipop?
  20. LOL Kel, oh dear!!
  21. Grew up near Little and Much Hadham, they always made me chuckle for some reason. And no good pubs in Nasty sadly!!
  22. Gen, all the way from Sydenham, you are a veritable inspiration to all umming and aahing about coming for the first time. Bravo/a!!
  23. 8) Go to sleep under your desk because you've stumbled out of a bar at 6am and by the time you get home it'll be time to come back to work. I imagine.
  24. On the subject of the White Stripes, they definitely went through an overrated patch. That said Elephant was a really good album, I liked alot of their earlier output, but they've gone off the boil a bit. Their follow ups (and love his weird obsession with all things English) are far far from bad, but I think they're a prisoner of their own self-imposed constraints, and they could do with maybe trying something a bit different, they seem to have run out of ideas with what to do with their standard formula (probably why he went of Raconteuring I guess).
